Wonder why this never made the HISTORY CHANNELS top 10 most Extreme Airports in the world?! All those bends and twist through a mountainous area to make the runway in a A319 ! The fact that only 8 pilots are qualified to do it should have gotten some mention!

@Maverick1375 Same thing, why don't they add London City airport and other several mountain range airfields in US or Europe inside the list. I guess they pick the famous airfield, only.

i've been there. The landing was scary as hell. Trees were about 30 metres away from plane's wings. One little mistake and....

bhutan seems to be a fifth world nation. i just can't imagine how people survive there.

haha.. funny a philipino should say that, considering that the average Bhutanese probably has a better quality of life compared to the any Filipino living in outside Manila or other urban areas. I just can't imagine how incompotent Filipinos must be to end up where they are now even after the US built them up and left them as the richest country in Asia after Japan. :)

Die Landung auf Paro Piste 15 ist die schwerigste in der Welt. Es können nur 12 Piloten der Druk Air. Nach der letzten S-Kurve hat man nur 3 sec. Zeit, um Flugzeug für die Landung auf der Piste 15 auszurichten. Nur VFR.. Diesen Platz fliegen nur 2 Maschinen A319 mit Tribwerken von A321 an.

The first noise is to advise all people there who there's one aircraft to arrive there. The smoke on landing is a dust of runway.

Inte i heller vad jag vet. Men olycksstatistiken gör inte Paro Airport till den farligaste utan det är att den är potentiellt farlig - precis som du säger. Inflygningen är väldigt utmanande t.o.m för den speciellt tränade piloten. Trots den sofistikerade utrustningen som finns ombord på de nyare flygmodellerna så tillåts inte nattflygning iheller.
