Not to take away from the song, which I love, but he is so full of shit that he got drunk and made up this song. I hate it when people do that -- glorify drinking or drugs in this way. And gawd may have given him this song, but he shouldn't bullshit about not having most of it written until he was drunk. It doesn't happen this way, especially with rhyming lyrics. I hate that.

@hnyoung Gotta Disagree. As someone who makes music and actually uses a recording studio myself. The songs do seem to come out better when your not completely there. Whether your drunk, high or for someone like me who stays sober. Just in a different state of mind than normal. Actually thinking about and writing lyrics is ok but the best and most meaningful ones are the ones you don't have to think about. You either just say them as you go or they come to you and almost write themselves.
This song made me cry the first time I heard it...We've loved KoL in the UK from the beginning and it's brilliant they're getting the acclaim they deserve.This song is flawless. I would not change a thing about it.
Living legend. One of the last true musicians in their prime in modern, mainstream music. Even if the bandwagon crews turned up, its good that they went mainstream, they're a chance at changing mainstream back to true music, where it should be.
music is better expressed when there is a true emotion behind it. even though he may be singing of religion. the song connects to me in a different way. like that lonliness that we at times have but we have so much pride we wont shed a fuckin tear because it is better to be strong and move on. it feels like there's an unrequited love. i've suffered enough of that and its repeated over and over again but i keep those emotions to my self. that song reminds of this and so much more.

the followill boys in my eyes will always be musical Gods. Yes, Only By The Night was more sucessful, and some say more comercial. But as they said at Leeds Fest'09 it wasn't them that gave them the huge sucess of last year it was us. I have the greatest respect for the boys,their music is the best of certainly my time, i heard them first in 2003 when Youth and Young Manhood was released and haved loved them ever since! Seeing them more times than i rememeber. Best of luck with everything boys.

I think he sounds great on that song. He sounds raw and its beautiful. It touched me and I felt that way my whole life too. "Jesus don't love me" really gets to me because at my lowest times I feel that way, but I know it's not true. Thanks Caleb, that song means a lot to me.

Not to take away from the song, which I love, but he is so full of shit that he got drunk and made up this song. I hate it when people do that -- glorify drinking or drugs in this way. And gawd may have given him this song, but he shouldn't bullshit about not having most of it written until he was drunk. It doesn't happen this way, especially with rhyming lyrics. I hate that.

@hnyoung Gotta Disagree. As someone who makes music and actually uses a recording studio myself. The songs do seem to come out better when your not completely there. Whether your drunk, high or for someone like me who stays sober. Just in a different state of mind than normal. Actually thinking about and writing lyrics is ok but the best and most meaningful ones are the ones you don't have to think about. You either just say them as you go or they come to you and almost write themselves.

music is better expressed when there is a true emotion behind it. even though he may be singing of religion. the song connects to me in a different way. like that lonliness that we at times have but we have so much pride we wont shed a fuckin tear because it is better to be strong and move on. it feels like there's an unrequited love. i've suffered enough of that and its repeated over and over again but i keep those emotions to my self. that song reminds of this and so much more.
