Still the series DOA is pretty fun, especially with their interactive environments, in my opinion, it what sets it apart from other fighting games. There was even a stage where you can fall off endless to another in DOA3, called LostWorld. It can be quite enjoyable,it you don't let the boob mechanics creep you out XD

In Doa you get some really good back and forth matches, especially if you can master timing those counters. one miss in the timing and you can get pounded. that takes some really good skill especially if your trying to pull off a certain counter to the opponents attacks. It is a good pick up and go game but once you try to pull off a certain move anyone can see it takes skill to get them on point and to connect without getting countered. Its a great fighting game series.

I actually love the new look of Doa5, it looks even more closer to cgi in cutscenes. thats a major graphical hookup. The gameplay even has an extra dramatic battle feel to it from the vid.

Tekken is more complicated with the Frame Rates, a very depth fighter. The Fighting system is good but sometimes it makes it way too repetitive with the combos like Julia's: 1~1,1
DOA it's fluid, less complicated, and way more easy to pick up, but the counter system is a turn down.

That eclipse guy is a douche.. DOA Is my favorite fighter serie and I'm one hardcore fan of the genre. I also play soulcalibur, MvC, BB, MK and others. DOA is very balanced and offer an awesome counter system. I think some people hate it because there's less fancy stuff like glowing weapons and fireballs. But it's a FIGHTING game, it's not dragon ball z. Been waiting for this game for so long!

OMG this is the best looking 3D fighting game ever.....DOA has always been the most beautiful in terms of graphics and has been leading in terms of gameplay far ass I'm concern but this shit here just takes the cake.
if someone was to play both games one after the other, the differences would be very apparent. if tekken fanatics think doa is copying from tekken then they must realize as well that tekken is /was jockriding VF. all 3 of those games franchises are different. i have both tekken6 and doa4, i always seem to play doa4 much more then tekken 6. the combat flow is high paced. lots of see saw battles. i like both games characters endings. Gameplay and graphics, Doa 5 has that down packed so far.

@hayatevo i saw it on gamerankings and dickhead, the parameters aren't justified. first of all doa's rating platform is only in the xbox 360, while tekken has PSP, PS3 and xbox360, plus doa had like 85 reviews while tekken has only 50 at the most and 24 the least. now how do you compare with those statistics? plus, games arent better just cause of higher points from critics, it's all seen within the game itself and majority of the feedback of players.

Why are they making this game play out sort of like Street Fighter? With all these fancy ass "Action Sequences" I will still probably play the game, because I like kicking peoples ass with the possibility of them countering me, instead of combo busting, or just taking it, like Street Fighter, or Tekken.
DOA is nowhere near "inferior" to any other 3d game. to think such is ridiculous. Tekken has its same core style gameplay for a long time as with doa and vf series. its their foundations. i play many tekken players and they hate DOA for one solid reason...Counter timing. they love tekken because they can pull off those long string combos without hardly any countering during them , thats it.. once you nail the combo string and keep it going...the match can go your way. in DOA, not possible.
From what i have seen so far in this vid of an "alpha" its has turned things up a bit and i can see a lil more dramatic gameplay going on. Play in tournaments with this game and you can clearly see why DOA has a fan base. Tekken is another breed on its own as well as VF series leads the 3d FG genre in its technical aspects and vf5 is as well a pretty game to look at. DOA visuals always been top notch with every new one and critcs always gave it good scores.
I been a fighting game player and enthusist for over 30 years and i have to give alot of props to DOA. I have play every 3d fighting game there has been and is. Tekken series and vf series along with every doa series. DOA holds its own candle against the others very well. VF is more technical than the others by far. Tekken is more juggle and combo based while DOA is strategic and timing which is required heavily. SF isnt even a factor because its 2 based Box system not free roam.

And if you search on gamerankings you will see that doa 4 scored higher than tekken 6. They are very different. In the end,it comes down to what someone likes better. Keep fighting! :-)
I consider DOA a "good alternative" rather than a "inferior game"... yes it's not that "famous" compared to others... but still it gives a new exp with regards to fighting games (if you haven't played this game that is)... with regards to this (DOA 5) i agree with "seiko", i think it hasn't improved much.. but it still in alpha so let's give it more time... when the beta version is out, i think we can say if DOA would still have 6.. or would be stuck playing volleyball... ^^

DOA is about timing not combo memorization (although it is rewarding to know the combos and special attacks) it is the best fighting series, extremely fluid

Which I don't understand is that PS3 users are already bashing this game. All of the PS3 users wanted to play this game, they were pleasing, and now that it's gonna be released for XBOX 360 and PS3, ya'll PS3 fanboys are now talking smack about this game. @StickyickyX I totally agree that tekken's fighting depth is immense but if someone knows how to juggle then he's the winner cause a juggle combined with a wall combo can consume 70% of someone's health bar. In doa you have the countering system and things like that won't happen. You have to guess every move of your opponent. Hence that Tekken isn't realistic (for example,in Tekken 6 in Noh Theatre stage if you throw your opponent towards the sea he will be stuck at an invisible wall istead of

@StickyickyX falling into the sea (that would happen in real life). This happens in other stages, too, which means that Namco hasn't perfected the wall concept yet. 'Flaws" like these make the game less realistic. Anyway, I ve been playing Tekken since 2 and I think that it's a great game and Tekken tag tournament 2 will be ONE HELL OF A GAME!! I just slightly prefer Doa cause it's simpler, more beautiful to the eye and has some sexy chicks!!! :-)

I myself had a hard time playing DOA coz it's a whole new experience compared to the "top tier" fighting games, as others may call it... DOA is not all about the combo... it's very strategic and also you need much more reflexes to win (*against players)... both games are great (DOA, tekken) and others as well, I just don't agree bout DOA being an inferior game
@mycze Still as a fan I say this, SF requires more reflex than any game. The only thing that requires reflexes in DOA are counters, but even that can be mastered by just predicting. DOA is more strategic out of all three games

I'm a DoA fan and even I think this is weak. 3-5 years and still no real improvement or new feats. And the story has always been cheesy. Extreme beach volleyball had more depth in it's story

If they could use their weapons, they might as well be soul caliber, it just really wouldn't be Dead or Alive anymore. If you are familiar with the series. And of course, when I have a weapon, and I go into a fight, the first thought I have is not to use it.... you know.... makes perfect sense..... XD

Still the series DOA is pretty fun, especially with their interactive environments, in my opinion, it what sets it apart from other fighting games. There was even a stage where you can fall off endless to another in DOA3, called LostWorld. It can be quite enjoyable,it you don't let the boob mechanics creep you out XD

In Doa you get some really good back and forth matches, especially if you can master timing those counters. one miss in the timing and you can get pounded. that takes some really good skill especially if your trying to pull off a certain counter to the opponents attacks. It is a good pick up and go game but once you try to pull off a certain move anyone can see it takes skill to get them on point and to connect without getting countered. Its a great fighting game series.

Tekken is more complicated with the Frame Rates, a very depth fighter. The Fighting system is good but sometimes it makes it way too repetitive with the combos like Julia's: 1~1,1
DOA it's fluid, less complicated, and way more easy to pick up, but the counter system is a turn down.
Actually I like more DOA than Tekken.

That eclipse guy is a douche.. DOA Is my favorite fighter serie and I'm one hardcore fan of the genre. I also play soulcalibur, MvC, BB, MK and others. DOA is very balanced and offer an awesome counter system. I think some people hate it because there's less fancy stuff like glowing weapons and fireballs. But it's a FIGHTING game, it's not dragon ball z. Been waiting for this game for so long!

if someone was to play both games one after the other, the differences would be very apparent. if tekken fanatics think doa is copying from tekken then they must realize as well that tekken is /was jockriding VF. all 3 of those games franchises are different. i have both tekken6 and doa4, i always seem to play doa4 much more then tekken 6. the combat flow is high paced. lots of see saw battles. i like both games characters endings. Gameplay and graphics, Doa 5 has that down packed so far.

@hayatevo i saw it on gamerankings and dickhead, the parameters aren't justified. first of all doa's rating platform is only in the xbox 360, while tekken has PSP, PS3 and xbox360, plus doa had like 85 reviews while tekken has only 50 at the most and 24 the least. now how do you compare with those statistics? plus, games arent better just cause of higher points from critics, it's all seen within the game itself and majority of the feedback of players.

DOA is nowhere near "inferior" to any other 3d game. to think such is ridiculous. Tekken has its same core style gameplay for a long time as with doa and vf series. its their foundations. i play many tekken players and they hate DOA for one solid reason...Counter timing. they love tekken because they can pull off those long string combos without hardly any countering during them , thats it.. once you nail the combo string and keep it going...the match can go your way. in DOA, not possible.

From what i have seen so far in this vid of an "alpha" its has turned things up a bit and i can see a lil more dramatic gameplay going on. Play in tournaments with this game and you can clearly see why DOA has a fan base. Tekken is another breed on its own as well as VF series leads the 3d FG genre in its technical aspects and vf5 is as well a pretty game to look at. DOA visuals always been top notch with every new one and critcs always gave it good scores.

I been a fighting game player and enthusist for over 30 years and i have to give alot of props to DOA. I have play every 3d fighting game there has been and is. Tekken series and vf series along with every doa series. DOA holds its own candle against the others very well. VF is more technical than the others by far. Tekken is more juggle and combo based while DOA is strategic and timing which is required heavily. SF isnt even a factor because its 2 based Box system not free roam.

I consider DOA a "good alternative" rather than a "inferior game"... yes it's not that "famous" compared to others... but still it gives a new exp with regards to fighting games (if you haven't played this game that is)... with regards to this (DOA 5) i agree with "seiko", i think it hasn't improved much.. but it still in alpha so let's give it more time... when the beta version is out, i think we can say if DOA would still have 6.. or would be stuck playing volleyball... ^^

Tecmo just does not want the franchise to die, so they spice it up with more digital TITS and better graphics. Meanwhile, the gameplay still lacks depth, hence it continues to be an inferior game.

Tekken took the wall concept from DOA and actually made it a key element of play & strategy. DOA uses it as a filler, because there is little depth in its fighting mechanics.

@StickyickyX I totally agree that tekken's fighting depth is immense but if someone knows how to juggle then he's the winner cause a juggle combined with a wall combo can consume 70% of someone's health bar. In doa you have the countering system and things like that won't happen. You have to guess every move of your opponent. Hence that Tekken isn't realistic (for example,in Tekken 6 in Noh Theatre stage if you throw your opponent towards the sea he will be stuck at an invisible wall istead of

@StickyickyX falling into the sea (that would happen in real life). This happens in other stages, too, which means that Namco hasn't perfected the wall concept yet. 'Flaws" like these make the game less realistic. Anyway, I ve been playing Tekken since 2 and I think that it's a great game and Tekken tag tournament 2 will be ONE HELL OF A GAME!! I just slightly prefer Doa cause it's simpler, more beautiful to the eye and has some sexy chicks!!! :-)

@hayatevo I agree with you... i think he hasn't played any of the DOA games... coz if he played with it he would suck... I myself had a hard time playing DOA coz it's a whole new experience compared to the "top tier" fighting games, as others may call it... DOA is not all about the combo... it's very strategic and also you need much more reflexes to win (*against players)... both games are great (DOA, tekken) and others as well, I just don't agree bout DOA being an inferior game

@mycze Still as a fan I say this, SF requires more reflex than any game. The only thing that requires reflexes in DOA are counters, but even that can be mastered by just predicting. DOA is more strategic out of all three games

Not too impressed due to lack of any real difference, but these Tekken fanboys need to shut the heck up! WE GET IT! Tekken has more buttons and you like it more, so shut up! I honestly have not seen one DOA fanboy flame on a Tekken video as of now, so please do the same on your end.

I'm a DoA fan and even I think this is weak. 3-5 years and still no real improvement or new feats. And the story has always been cheesy. Extreme beach volleyball had more depth in it's story
