Yeah, the helmet is big but the opening is a narrow rectangle shape to fit over the ammo box so there is no way it could fit anyone's head, even a small one. We got ours last night at a midnight release. The helmet is totally awesome. And apparantly so is the game. My son is saying that so far (he has't finished it yet) it's the best of all the Halo games.
