  • i'd say keep your head up and look straight ahead so yor neck musceles will take some of the stress of the back and arms and listen to the tv while youre at it to take your mind of it

  • Im currently doing lots of rock climbing and to that shit you need upper body strength. My sister recommends me doing pushups. the moment she told me that im like "dude i cant even do like 7".

  • thanks, I was making sure I was doing them right. Michelle Obama "did" 30 on Ellen, but doesn't go all the way down so I thought I was doing them wrong. Nope, I wasn't. And for those who said that you can't even do one. That was me, but I really wanted to be able to. I generally do 5-6 now. On a strong day I can do 10. It can be done. FYI, I'm a 50 year old woman.

  • That's not how get your head out of your ass ...... the right way is do the push up position tightn your stomach and butt hold go down and up that's how it works out your whole body you should feel the diffrence as soon as you do it and the next morning

  • One key thing you ought to mention is to focus on the lats during the exercise. This helps to subconsciously stop people sticking their elbows our, bringing them closer to (not up against) the body and work the core too :)

  • I don't think I have to sell myself. But just to thank u that since i enrolled 6pack last Nov., my used-to-be 42-inch waistline is now a whooping 38!!! And Im 47 yrs old. And to think that i have not started ur exercise videos but only followed ur diet advice (brown rice, chicken breast, fish, etc.). I only intensified my home workout for additional 20 min. and planning to enroll a gym nearby. For sure, this new video series ur offering are killers!!! thanks Mike!

  • i dont want to get all muscular and bulky ugh i just want to...how do you say it...just increase my strength a bit,y'know just enough to support my own body weight,i dont want to go all hardcore and get big arms and all that.So this may be a stupid question but what im asking is if lets say 5-10 push ups an hour...would that change my arms/chest to look too muscular in the long run or no :/

  • @R3dSt4r90 Well let me tell you that doing push ups everyday can burn your muscles to much and stop them from growing, so doit like 3 times a week only....second don't think by doing push ups you will look like the movie stars cuz they have many diets and gym trainers so don't try to look to much like them (IM NOT saying you are, just in case) after 1 week increase 2 or 3 push ups per set and you will see good results....oh and eat a litle bit more, not junk food though.....

  • @R3dSt4r90 yea I know what you mean...it happens to me a lot but you have to move your chest up a litle bit and put your head looking up front never down and instead of doing 40 fast try doing 20 slowly, it will affect your chest that way, is the way I doit but Still i often don't feel anything on my chest but it always ends up hurting the next day so that means is working....I repeat if you really want to gain a lot muscle and ripness go to the gym :)

    that's quite a waste of money

    i just need a decent cheat exercise that is not isometric

    but unfortunately isometric exercises are the only ones that seem to make me feel anything at last in my chest

    i will try what u say tho but im not optimisti, because my chest is a diva xD

  • @R3dSt4r90 well i have a small portion of pectus excavatum and a small scoliosis so my chest will never be perfect because it won't be at the same measure and not well formed but I try not to be depressed about it, if I keep going with this problems you should be able to doit too, have faith bro.... and remember don't be obssesed about appereance because wether we like it or not we will always find somoene prettier or uglier than us :) GOD BLESS

  • @NorthNorthDallas214 there is no limit to when you can start. just start right away! push-ups is an excellent exercise, since it is a "full body" exercise like they mentioned in this clip. i am a skinny male, and i do push-ups every evening before i go to bed. the first session i did, i tested how many propper push-ups i could do before i began to struggle in maintaining that flat line this guy had. next thing i did was to do this amount of push-ups every day in a week. every week i add 1 more

  • That's more of a gymnastics pushup. The proper form of a standard military pushup is a bit more than shoulder width apart, hands slightly pointed inward, elbows flaring outwards in the down position to utilize both triceps and chest. Down position should be near chin to ground, and of course all the way up to near locking. Feet are usually together and you ass should be lifted slightly to prevent sagging.

    Once this form is mastered, you should be able to get as much as 75 pushups in a minute.

  • @varun009 Not the entire body, but most of it. If you get into the push up position and touch your stomach area, you'll noticed that it is automatically hard. That means it has to work to keep itself up. Your calves, triceps, shoulders, chest are the other parts being exercised.
