  • @mrrodneyalong My dads 99 has the same motor as your 97. On the HUD he has only seen 170 for a split second. A full exaust, intake, and tune will probably get her to the high 170's.

    That's the 345 HP C5...Still plenty quick though. In 2001 they bumped the HP up by 5 to 350 HP and they bumped the torque up by 25 to 375 LBFT.

  • Whats the top speed on your vette? I have an '03 Z06, I believe it will do 190. I was just curious what the comparison is.

  • Its kind of weird because I've gotten my stock 98 C5 up to 188. It takes a little bit of time to get it there though. You more than likely could go a lot faster than 190 if you kept on it for a minute or two.

  • Well now you do realize that with the onboard diagnostic system you can delete them pesky lights right without the aid of an OBD II reader?

  • Anything for my fellow Corvette brethren.

    1. Turn your key to the Acc. position and turn radio is off.

    2.Hit reset till all codes are gone.

    3.Press the options button till you have a blank reading.

    4.While still depressing the options button hit the Fuel button 4 times this will do a self diagnostics check on all the systems.

    5.once completed press and hold reset when the system beeps push (I think) the fuel button to advance to the next list of codes and hold the reset button again.

  • It is just a temp fix to turn the lights off. I use it due to the Engine in my car, it is a H/C/I/E and I always have some bullshit code. The Vette Diagnostic system is basically an OBDII reader. It is something a lot of people dont know. I also have the sequence for re learning your Key FOB if you need it.. What Vette do you have bro? Check my videos out.

  • well, I had an 03 hatchback. Check out my vids. I never really had to learn that feature since like I said I have the HPtuners. I REALLY miss that car.

  • Well the engine light was on because I didn't screw my gas cap on tight enough!! REALLY!!! But I guess I need to make a new one now that I had it dynoed and a vararam put on it.

  • if you want acceleratio 3.73 atleast and you will be able to pull real hard if you can get traction! and get your shift tuned or somekind of shift kit! If you put on headers gears and get a tune you would whoop that stang then! with ease!!

  • Hey dude, I have a Z28 with a 2.73 and I would recommend a 3.43 or a 3.73, you would still get decent interstate mileage this way. If you don't drive it on the interstate much, screw it, go with a 4.11!

  • Well unfortunately I ONLY get to drive it on the interstate and very little time in town!! I might just have to buy those gears and just replace it when i go to the strip!! Thanks for the comments!!
