This scene was so popular there is a Reservoir Dogs action figure box set of this scene! It was actually banned for sale in the states after 911! Mr. Blonde Michael Madsen rules!
No the guy on the floor who had passed out wakes up and shoots him in the chest - so blonde dies... But later in the movie 'Nice guy Eddy' Kills the cop anyway.
That cop was acting like a bitch. He deserved to get cut for acting like a woman about it. Besides that, this scene isn't nearly as disturbing as the gimp scene in Pulp Fiction, which one ups this scene entirely in grossness and obnoxiousness.
Very true. Officer Nash (Kirk Baltz) ad-libbed the line about being a father. Blonde (Michael Madsen) had just become a father and became so emotional, he had trouble finishing the scene. Interesting, huh? It's ironic because Madsen is very adverse to violence, while Blonde is a sadistic thief. Oh, Tarantino :D
Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are tarantinos two masterpieces. Jackie Brown and Kill Bill pale in comparison. Time will see if there will be a third masterpiece....
Tarantino is stuck in a rut. He is so obesessed with seventies cinema that the homage (or if you're less kind, rip-off) has become the main feature of his work. Nothing worse than watching a director fawn to his heroes.
i was mr.blond for halloween and every body thinks it was a C.I.A guy, i had the old time shaver and a fake bloody ear. then after i got done trick or treating i listing to this song. god i love this movie!
This scene was ripped off from the Nicholas Roeg/Donald Cammel film "Performance" (1970). Check it out if you have your doubts - it's just more proof that Tarantino robs all the good shit from other films.
Good call. I have it on DVD and will try to do so shortly. It isn't a shot by shot rip off, (Tarantino's is way more violent), but the two scenes feel so similar in so many ways... it will be interesting to see what other people think.
Quentin Tarrentino at his best. The common sounds of the world outside when he goes out to the car meanwhile a purely evil and tense moment is going on inside is pure genious.
I like how in the directors cut he really did get into character and between scenes he drove around with someone in his trunk and got some lunch at Taco Bell.
my father's friend, director Peci Dingo, is rumored to have come up with this scene. He was on the set one day when they were doing the shooting and suggested playing this song in the background to Quentin. Unfortunately, he never got credit for it, but...interesting anecdote!
personally my favorite scene from the movie....i agree too...1st time seeing it, it was kinda creepy, i would shit my pants constantly if i was the cop...man. Mr.Blonde is awesome though.
