Crosby has 1 Hart to Ovechkin's 2, and 1 Ted Lindsay to Ovechkin's 3. The math, by all means, says that Ovechkin has been better. At this point I would call them even.

In 08-09, Ovechkin had 4 more points, but Malkin won the Art Ross Trophy. In 09-10, they tied for points and Crosby had one more goal. Ovechkin had more trophies, but Crosby had more playoff wins.

However, after this year, Crosby missed 1/2 season and the two tied for goals. He really separated himself from Ovechkin.

Ovechkin's 65 would be impressive in any generation, let alone when 50 goal scorers are rarer, and he still had 47 assists, good for 29th in the league. Granted, not exceptional, but still rather good, especially on a team with only 2 other players topping 20 goals, in which case, is it really his fault that he didnt get many?

Not to mention how all players have their down years and up years. There is no way of knowing that Crosby would've kept his pace. Stamkos was at a goal per game for about 25ish games and ended up with only 45. If he scores the same way next year, and Ovie doesn't jump back sure, he seperated himself. But for now could be a fluke.
