  • I have a very important question, would you want to use this grounding method before recording, or would it be better to get the full default pickup sound? i have a jackson but won't be stopping during songs just wondering anyone's opinion.

  • Fret Buzz: This is why Jackson is my favorite guitar. I love to play a guitar that has low strings.

  • Comment removed

  • My EMG's do make that noise, even with my hands on the strings.. i don't know why that is happening..

  • The noise prob is a grounding prob dip shit, go to a GC and have them fix the grounding cable

  • I'm trying to figure out how you'd get noise reduction by removing the back plate for the floyd :/

  • Either way though man your video's are great ! Keep them coming!!!

  • Also my custom shop king v's truss rod is dead center and I've never had any tuning or intonation issues. I also own an esp m II and it's a great guitar but the Jackson is astronomically better in every category. I know a custom shop guitar is totally different all together than a usa select but can the difference be that much?

  • I really like your video it's helpful and informative but... I have to disagree about the pick up noise and sheilding statement. I had an Ibanez with duncans in it and it made a little noise. I switched to emg's and the noise was instantly gone. I like seymour's tone better but emg's are always less noisy than seymour duncans. I have found that active p- ups are always less noisy but that's from my own personal experience.

  • I PLAY LTD JH-600 ON GIGS WITH MY BAND, WITH SOME EMG-S ON IT, I CAN SAY ITS REALLY REALLY KILLER GUITAR BRO, WAY BETTER THAN LOTS EXPENCIVE GUTARS I TRYED... REALLY NICE VIDS THO, GETCHA PULL N KEEP SHREDDING

  • ESP ALL THE WAY well i like jackson as well so

  • @airsoftfanatick32 I have an ESP ex and a jackson demmelition king v . . I would say ESP is the best for rhythm and Jackson is truly the king for lead \m/

  • Your notes on fret buzz is the reason why I can't stand Ibanez guitars....

  • Respond to this video... you should compare similar guitars, its not fair to compare two completely different guitars... try to compare a Jackson RR5 Pro Series with an ESP LTD laiho 600

  • @airsoftfanatick32 My esp was only $200 vs my jackson at $1200, and i like the Esp more for heavy metal... not a good comment at all

  • When it comes to a USA made Jackson and a ESP they are both great guitars and you can't really go wrong with either. But when it comes to their lower tier products Esp LTD's are a way better for the money product then Jacksons that aren't USA made. For the same price range the LTD's are giving you an Original Flyod Rose with a set in neck and grover tuners. Where as the Jacksons have Licenced Flyods, bolt on necks and just not as up graded gear. All for the same price point on higher models.

  • Very good video! I would let a specialist polish the frets to get rid of the fret buzz.

  • To get rid of the noise just put some tape(doesn't have to be duct tape, just any tape) on the frame of the pickups and the noise will disappear. I own a Jackson Slsmg and it has the same problem

  • @airsoftfanatick32 good jacksons are more pricey than esps. Of course, if you only play those shitty esps....

  • what guitar better this Jackson or Jackson KV5FR King V ?

  • @Max45090 This one.

  • @jbohler33 what is the diffrence?

  • @Max45090 defintely the king v kv2, its made the USA! show your pride

  • @mrusername09

Doesn't really mean anything. I couldn't care less about where a guitar was made.

Go get a Ran Invader like a boss.

  • @mrusername09 He's russian.

  • @Fuckrap111 depends on the model, i could get a king v for £250 but a rhoads would cost £1200 whereas esp's (in england) tend to be from £400 - £1000

  • @Draceius well the cheapest guitar that esp has is the ESP Ltd m-10 which is 149$ and the cheapest jackson is the Jackson JS1R Dinky which is 179$

  • @Fuckrap111 i meant esp dickhead

  • @Draceius An esp for £400 - £1000? Where do you shop man? Most LTD's are in that price range, but not ESP models.

  • @conanwarriorkid Rockers, denmark street, if i remember rightly the Alexi lahio signiture model is around £800-£900, at i might need to change that range from £600 + but you get my point, ill double check for you.

  • @airsoftfanatick32 jacksons are pretty inexpensive guitars

  • @Fuckrap111

Actually you're fucking stupid. Jacksons cost more, and you get less. On ESPs and ESP Ltds, you get a bunch of features for a small price.

Jacksons, cost like 1000 dollars just for a guitar with basswood body and some shitty Duncan Designed PU's.

  • @airsoftfanatick32 i go for quality.. so it's automatically a jackson!

  • blah blah blah (plays awesome shred)blah blah blah (another awesome riff) lol jk i love ur videos

  • your comparing a V to a not V shape, thats not really good from a review point, but thats really the only complaint about this video

  • that music will make me kill myself -_-

  • Dude, 3 mm or 3,5 mm is what you call really low action?? It's almost as high as on bass guitar.. :-D I believe it's some mistake..

  • oh that intro music!!!

  • you have such guitars but can't play a shit you better take some guitar lessons instead dude !

  • oh my god that gay intro music destroyed the whole video

  • Those problems you mention on guitar tech videos can happen to any guitars.. especially the fret buzz.. there are ways where you can just sand frets,

most guitars have different types of frets.. from my experience, Jackson's guitar and ESP's guitar with jumbo frets are very annoying to me, that is why i prefer ibanez wide but slim neck with lower frets.

  • @merockzyourass4321

Yeah, he has a Roadstar in a couple of vids.

  • How did you attach the aluminum foil? Did you glue it to the cavity cover or tape it?

  • Is like a game show

  • quieter, hmmmmmmmm.

  • Rhoads played the RR... thats enough for me to stick by Jackson's side

  • @Evilsator Amen brother.

  • thanks for the vidio; it's ver instructional.

  • the only true good guitars to play are Jackson, Esp, and Ibanez .

  • @airsoftfanatick32 I only paid $599 for my ESP. Same as Jackson Soloist, which is $1200.

    Not for rich kids IMO

Just got a Jackson Soloist from 86 for $200 though lol.

  • The pick ups on the Jackson are noisier because they're passive and the ESP's are active.(battery powered). Many people think active pickups are noisier, but they're actually quieter if installed properly. Throw those EMG pickups in the Jackson and it will be just as quiet as that ESP. Great playing by the way.

  • @TacoConch I've also noticed, that even if both are active and intalled correctly, Sey. D's have more feed than EMGs. Even passive EMGs have almost unnoticable feed, even cranked.

  • i have a jackson that i have heavily customised and i havent come across another guitar that feels so natural to play, it sounds awsome when i put it drop c!!

  • I've got a Schecter c-1 and I love it because of the range of sounds you can get from the coil tap and heavy shredding emg ballsy tone. The thing about the Schecter that I don't like as much is the thick neck. It's really hard to try and sweep pick while standing up so I like LTDs and Ibanezs because of their much thinner neck you can have a more comfortable feel.

  • Your videos are really educational I've learned a lot from them, good comparison also.

  • @airsoftfanatick32 wtf? ESP is cheap! the most expensive ESP guitar is like $1500. Although I do believe that the overall quality (action) on jackson guitars are better.

  • 8:05 yes its really easy xD Your videos are great... keep them coming!!

  • its natural for the v shaped guitar to have a farther distance from the strings. unlike the normal shaped guitars

  • @13lichking why is that?

  • @metalhead6242 observe the shape, you can see it

  • i like the music in between slides :) its like motivation music or something hahaha

  • esp rules man...

  • Comment removed

  • I have had my Jackson Dinky (400 dollar version) since 2002, never had any truss rod issues at all. If you can't do it yourself, bring to a pro shop and have them set it up for you. You might want to have pros set it up since a Floyd Rose is a pain if you want to switch string gauges and tunings.

  • when you adjust the neck of the ESP there is NO dead note!^^

  • LOL 00:52

    "i."

  • IMHO:Schecter's the best guitar for the price,i've a c-1 green hella and love it.LTD deluxe is almost the same quality(not to say the same).Caparisons are awesome, but a "bit" pricey.ESP are great instruments(imho too pricey for a veneer top over a maple cap)overall quality is really good.Jacksons USA are even better for the quartersawn neck.Dunno about the edwards, but a friend of mine got a purple schec japan and, man, that's supreme...

  • it's not the jackson, it's just the way your take off your fingers!

  • ESP all the way,a low end/mid range esp like the LTD m100fm has better features and quality then Jackson over priced RR3,both good guitars,it just depends on what catches your fancy, for me it'd be ESP/LTD

  • I got the feeling you got some poorly constructed guitars, maybe the workers in the LTD factory did a good job (maybe they got a raise of one cent and were happy or something) while the US and JPN factories pretty much failed

I will get the ESP M-II UC soon hoping it wouldn't have that many flaws

it's cheaper, I like the superstrat design (comfort) and the paintjob is awesome

altough the Jackson seems cool also

  • ESP sucks so much dick i am poor as fuck i need a cheap guitar that plays metal/Punk thank God for Jackson and B.C. Rich

  • @airsoftfanatick32

LOL a USA Jackson is about $2500

A ESP MII NTB is about $1800 tops

  • @ShreddyTeddy666 sorry but in recent statistics, the pro series jacksons are on par wih USA select series. they are fantastically made, japanese have started to up their act on quality, id leave the ESP's and their shit EMG pick ups personally, not a fan of " STRICTLY METAL" pick ups. its just horrible.

  • Jackson's have SHIT tone....but REALLY good quality. i would say.....if you want a guitar with awesome tone, great quality, and decent price, i would say go with Dean or Schecter.

  • @VonHendrixTV

LOL dean is really really shitty unless u get a $3500 usa.

    Schecter is crap all around.

    I bet u have a dean and a schecter.

  • @ShreddyTeddy666 i have a dean 79 V and i HAD a schecter hellraiser. But i sold it for a ESP ltd EX-360. its actually the best guitar i have ever owned!!! But the main thing i was trying to say about jackson, is that the only way you can get a great sounding one, is if you buy one of their $3,000 models!!!!!!!

  • @airsoftfanatick32 I would go for Jackson too, But ESP is actually 5 years older than Jackson

  • Honestly I don't like Jackson. I have a few esps and loved em :), but now I'm an ibanez guy, which aha beats the crap out of Jackson by far xD

  • @Adelisonfire i beg to differ, a pro series jackson > £600, you get seymour duncans, a sustainer ( sustainiac), half decent licenced floyd rose, 24 jumbo frets, and great quality, now, ibanez... LOOOOOL, sorry but the things i listed in a jackson pro, you will only be able to match those with the presteige line of ibanez, im sorry, but ibanez are insanley over priced, its a joke now.

  • that sound is caused by a improper ground wire inside the guitar? its fix able jsut dont do it yourself or remove the aluminum wire coverings.

  • @airsoftfanatick32 even tho jackson costs more lol

  • I have a Squier Standard Stratocaster, and the Jacksons and ESPs I've played get owned by my Squier... But I've also played other Squier Standard Strats that get totally smashed when compared to mane. Does anyone know why this could be?

  • @TroubleClef2112

you cant compare a squier to any jackson or esp

  • @ShreddyTeddy666 I disagree. The Jackson JS line, EVERY guitar I've played from that line, has extremely bad fret buzz. Totally set up, and horrid fret buzz. Although Jackson's higher line stuff is usually amazing. And the ESP-50s, I've played a lot of those too, and actually, really liked them. But then I played a Schecter Omen 6, liked it's pups better, and got that instead.

  • @ShreddyTeddy666 Sure you can, both are owned by fender :P jackson and squier i mean XD

  • @ShreddyTeddy666

but you can always modify the low-cost guitar as you get better and get more out of it than buying a over priced guitar.

  • @TroubleClef2112 Squires blow dude. Those are basically Fender's toy guitars. Camparing Squire to Jackson or ESP is like comparing a piece if burnt bacon to Honeybaked Ham.

  • noise suppressor takes care of that noise so JACKSON still wins!

  • heyy nice vid! r the problems that u had with ur guitars be present with an exact same other guitar?

  • A lot of ESP's suffer from that type of volume control placement.

  • U must have got a shitty jackson cause my king v doesnt do that

  • @Cook2430 Todays Jacksons have fixed that problem. He owns an older version of that model.

  • ur wrong talkin bout the noise when u let go of the string...its the way u did it.. with the jackson u just let go quick then the esp u made sure to let go easily. i have kv2 and it dont make sounds when u let go of the strings like u did with the esp

  • "I can show you, I can play some pretty fast stuff..." *VIEWER'S HEAD EXPLODES* \m/

  • you could get some music on your videos that they play on elevators...

  • The reason the jackson makes more noise is because it has passive pickups, and the esp have active ;D

  • @MetallicaAnders Yeah, and no. He just showed the reason why the Jackson had noise was because or bad electrical shielding. Todays Jacksons have fixed that problem. By the way, its EMG's not ESP's pick ups. Same goes for the Jackson. ESP or Jackson didn't make those pick ups.

  • which is better a Jackson js32 (tremolo) or a Jackson king V (tremolo) Both have: -24 frets -tremolo systems

which one is better? cuz i dont know which one to get for Christmas.

  • is your MII a custom?

  • play the ltd mh or esp horizon and put it against any jackson. the jackson will lose in every category

  • I think overall Esp's are better.. look better, sound better, the headstocks don't have that bad look about them..

  • @novemberrain1994 Thats your opinion. It all depends on what the individual is wanting from the guitar. You can go to carvin to custom make a guitar to your specs and have what ever design on the exterior you like and get a great price.

  • yeah sure, a flying v is so much comfortable then a strat shape guitar.... for an odd reason, i feel this is set up. jackson and ESP are overall beast but i see you go more for the jackson than the ESP. this video does not have a good and overall define answers....

  • I hate dead notes.

  • So that's why people remove the back plate! THX!

  • "i can still play some fast stuff like" *plays guitar*

love it when you do that, makes me laugh. fast is putting it lightly

  • yeah the noise when your not playing can get annoying with the jackson but i still prefer them over ESP .

  • that tapping part at 8:18 is just wow

  • Try using a ground lift to get rid of that hiss.

  • that noise on the KV is interference from something

  • hey man! can you help me with this? I'm comparing a Ltd ex50 vs a Dean VmntX

I wanna know which one is better I know both are economic but one of them must be a little better, and why?

    THANKS :P!

  • i have an rx10d which is only worth 400 gbp and it doesnt have any defects and the pickup noise is minimal.

  • @callumscreamer what color, mines crimson swirl, and i didnt notice and pickup noise on mine either

  • 3:50 .....drip.....drip..drip

  • eyy man can you explain how add the aluminum foil to the back of the guitar

so i can reduce the noise of the guitar thanksss

  • Wich do you guys think is best between :

    Jackson JS32T King V

    and

    Ibanez XP300FX

And between these other two :

    Jackson KVX10 King V

    and

    Ibanez RG 350 DX

I'd really apreciate if any of you could help me out

    Thanks.

  • @thekingschneider i would buy the ibanez rg250 dx

  • @thekingschneider I bought a Jackson KVX10 Last week and It's an amazing guitar on ultimateguitar this guitar is rated 9/10 and the lowest rating is 7.5/10. What's different and amazing is that this model is smaller than the other king V so its really easy to play the only bad point is the jack line-in position.

  • Jackson King V, alright. I have alwas been interested in the v-shape, though sceptical about the comfort. I am deeply surprised! How about: The amp you use versus a huge Marshall, like all the professionals use!

  • Who ever thought this thing was an RR3 is a dumbass

  • @StefanCornelius

Yeh yeh , I was shocked when i saw Buckethead playing a Gibson Lespaul , Cause You wouldnt expect to see someone like Buckethead playing a Gibson

  • @StefanCornelius Yeh But Bcrich Too , guitars are personnal opinnion and PRS are great but i prefer Bcrich

  • @StefanCornelius

Well Yeh prs are nice guitars , especially the Torrero , and so are Bcrich. But I prefer Bcrich now , cause their designs and specs are more to my liking

  • what is the shielded wire for?

  • JACKSON ANYDAY.

  • learn how to adjust your truss rod and action, and it wont buzz.My action is low,I have no buzz like that!

  • jackson bitchesa

  • jackson

  • dimarzios are best

  • fuck ESP.. jacskon 4life

  • @dunavidrava your insane!

  • Body weight is not a comparison. If you had bought a ESP that was a V then it would be realistic. Other than that nice video.

  • The reason the knob is so close to the strings is because ESP specializes on allowing easy volume swells.

  • I have an Ibanez but I'm left handed, Jacksons make very few lefties, Ibanez makes more lefties so by default I'm an Ibanez guy

  • emg's rock so hard.

  • @Maxamilieon Duncans are better

  • @Killer9299

    AMEN...

My ESP came with Passive pickups .

One humbucker, one single hand wound.

  • @Killer9299 true

  • "it's so easy to do stuff like : "

    guitar: TARARARARA

  • 2 - 3 mm is not a low action at all, I have on my string through body soloist 1,2 mm at the last fret (10-52), and 1,5 mm for RG550 with Edge (9-46)

and 3,5 mm for ESP is a total madness...

May be there is a mistace in calculation?

  • set the thing up. wtf

  • 8:20 OMG

  • Hahahahaha this guy's crackin me up!! I think I'll do alittle research before buying ANY guitar.

  • 1. first act guitars all the way NUMBER 1

  • How bout a king V with stop tail bridge ( strings through body )? Last damper than a floyd rose, n less gauge pressure on the neck? Note : my tuning is down whole step with 0.10-0.52.

  • it's normal that an active pickup don't make noise -.-, most of the people know that -.- ¬¬

  • I SAY DEATH TO DEAD NOTES!

  • I own the same ESP and I think the reality is the opposite. If your aim is making metal you have to need only two thing. 1) ESP MII, 2) Randall amp.

  • men dont be stupi one have saymoun duncan and the other one emg pickups you idiot

  • 1. Jackson

    2. Dean

    3. Charvel

    4. Prs or Bcrich

  • @Shink5 you didnt even put ESP in there...fail

  • @RevisedTV

Nah i just dont like ESP's cause they always use the same pickups and hardware , and the necks are very uncomfortable imo

  • @Shink5

    1. ESP / Ltd

    2. Bcrich

  • @rockyinahard That's right. Laguna rocks, though I do agree, Ernie Ball should have been higher than Washburn...
