@GunfightersINC I think that the ammo I was shooting was loaded too long for the magazine. It was factory Privi Partizan ammo...but I've since loaded this mag up to full with some what appear to be shorter rounds, I'll know more after Sunday, I'm going to try it out again at another match.
@abutler002 yeah I havn't had any problems with my SF mag but I'm always looking for people who have so I know what to avoid and im trying to determine if buying three more is a wise investment or not, By the way I recently developed a kydex mag pouch for the magazine you may be interested in for competition use, check my channel.
@GunfightersINC good deal, nice magazine pouch, I primarily shoot competition so I don't have much need for any more than 60 rounds a spare 30 that I can carry on my belt but for tactical purposes that pouch looks good to go. There is a place selling those surefire for $90...you can probably find it with a little searching, I can't remember where it is. lmk if you can't find it.
@speedfreak247 Well, I got the mag back from Surefire....it appeared to be the same mag. There was no explanation of what, if anything that they did. I took it apart and lubricated some of the parts inside that could have been hanging it up and tried loading it again. It got cock-eyed while loading....LOADING...so, I took some pictures and I plan on sending it back to Surefire...i guess. I'm pretty much done with this one, I may pick up another one..see if it's any different.
@abutler002 Just curious, sometimes in comps ppl are lack luster in their maintenance and perfectly good mags fail to feed because of the pile of dirt inside. But sounds like it was a legitimate issue with the mag. Good to know. That could be why I stick with USGI green follower mags and magpul pmags. Call it old habits sort of thing (USMC 1999-2007)
It'd be nice to have a 40 round quad stack magazine that's only as long as a normal 30 round duel stack magazine. Or even a 30 round quad that's shorter than a normal 30 round mag.
@cahanson00 Yeah, I'm going to give it another shot, it worked great on two stages. I hope it works, I like not having to reload on a high round count stage and it's definitely an advantage.
@SCTexas Hey Sean - Not 100%, one of my squadmates cleared it but I think the follower got hung up about half-way through...the bullets where just loose in there..
@abutler002 That's interesting. was that the first time out? what ammo were you using? Brass or steel case? Did you clean the magazine before or after? Have you tried it again?
@SCTexas It was the first time out, I probably should have cleaned it before running it. Privi Partizan 55gr softpoint, brass case. On the Safariland belt, I highly recommend it, especially now that they have come down in price. Before you order, make sure that you take into account that you're going to need more of the forks, for pouches, etc. than you will of the receivers that go on the belt. You only have so much room on the belt for those but you'll always have more pouches.
So did you figure out what was wrong w it?

That sucks ass. Your aim is true. Your rifle is sound. Your ammunition is solid. Your form is flawless. Your magazine was a piece of shit.

@Karenronwood Sure would that's a great idea for long distance stages where you might need a few extra rounds but would still like to go prone.

Probably a reason the Russians have not issued their quad stack in great numbers...
Stottman1 4 months ago
I had one it wouldn't feed more than 20 rounds out of the box.
I tried several times to take it apart and fix it.
Surefire would only take it back if i paid for shipping.
I eventually got it working but i regret buying it
After i got it fixed surefire offered to pay for shipping but it was only after freaking out

I cleared the brass out to inspect. The 1st follower was loose in the mag. I think it was the mid follower...
