@Tanzo you are not a grey warden but in this game, the story takes place while your grey warden from origins is fighting the blight and stuff. You probably will end up meeting a grey warden or two, but they won't play as big of a role in the game.
Aside from delving into details such as that. You could also look at it as BioWare has a second chance to redesign the world of Dragon Age. If they knew they were going to be doing a sequel, even things like Flemeth's first appearance would be corrected. Makes me wonder though how much different the Archdemon might have looked.
Could also become a japanese rpg = Extremely big weapons, less freedom, stupid characters (a gypsy?). I also really hated when they said they were making the game "more acessible".

I guess it's just the japanese clothing style that makes a gypsy look ridiculous and in no way taken seriously? you can't choose a race or a backstory to start from, only being a human choosing facial appearance, gender and class also whatever you did in origins carries over to this game so you can see the aftermath of your choices, as for the battle system I heard it's less tactics and auto-attacking and more live hack n slash

I think Co-op would be a good thing. I'd love to run around tanking and shield bashing darkspawn that are trying to gank mates while they unleash epic vollies of fireballs n then play again thru vice versa. As long as you pick diff classes, you shouldn't need to argue over armour n items, all seems fairly obvious. Or if 2 player only get 2 characters each. Would make it harder not being able to pause game too.

I do hope they won't sacrifice the more philosophical side of the game in favor of senseless slaughtering. I do enjoy a good battle, as long as "killing stuff" is not the main focus of the game. Origins was perfect and I pray to God that EA WON'T have a say in the game's development. Bioware really challenge people's minds by facing them with ethical and moral issues throughout their games stories. I hope they keep this as the main pillar for their future games (ME3, or DA2).

it could be that since the Quanri are divided into strict social classes, the top warriors and/or leaders of the Qunari have horns. sten and the few troops who went with him were simply sent as exploreres into foreign human lands, they might have been simply chosen because they didnt have horns and thus wouldnt have appeared to be threatening or monsterous to the human inhabitants of Ferelden. the real reasons will come out in time, but bioware is re-designing all of the races.

aparently the decisions you make as Hawke will have lasting reprucussions but on a grand scale. aparently if terrible decisions are made then a war that will engulf all of thedas will ensue, so with that in mind it is possible that the qunari will be involved.

@MCfleghm yeah thats is a pretty good idea, except that dragon age 2 starts just before lothering is destroyed, and hawke is a fully grown man whilst these events take place. But decisions made in dragon age: origins do have an effect on hawke and the free marches.
@DistrictSin No this doesnt take place in the "middle" persay. Its a 10 year journey. Where our wardens took around one year to dissipate the archdemon and his horde. This starts just before lothering is destroyed. Also it was stated at PAX that decisions from awakening will have effect on this, which means that it must overlap awakening, then pass it for decisions to effect the Free Marches.

No matter how cool it looks, the combat engine needs less slapdash loose edges and more balance. The mechanics of Dragon Age 1 were a little too open to ridiculous spell combinations, silly kiting, and general tactical idiocy. It has great potential, it just needed tightening up that the rush to market never allowed. Really hope they take some time for tactical quality on DA2.

i hope bioware will not let ea screw us on this game like orgins it was suppose to be four player co-op not a single player game. boulders gate was fun, ea you publish goos games but leave them to the developers on how they be played.

And Dragon Age 2 takes time in the middle of the first game, and play through 10 years, so theres no way Hawk is the child of Morrigan and the Gray Warden.

But my friend playd it and he said In the DLC when you find Morrigan she says that you didn't accept her deal to have a baby, (even if you did) but you can say "I herd your with a child" and she says "Yes, your son is safe". And he said it was short, boring, and it doesn't explain anything.

I can't wait for DA2! That Qunari looked bad ass. Bioware wasn't kidding when they said they where going to remodel the other races. It's to bad you can't be an Elf, Dwarf or Qunari in DA2.

Felmeth will make a reappearance though. And she will look kick ass, she picked a good body to posses for 10 years. She'll look way evil and may/or may not be a party member. She will however help you out at some point that was not specified in the game. close to start most likely.
I would assume so. The city that is being attacked is Kirkwall, and it was eventually taken by the Qunari. I assume the main character - who will be named Hawke like how Mass Effect's main character is called Shepard - will have something to do with its liberation.

I just had an amazing idea, this could be the by in lothering who lost his mother! remember, the one who you could either help or tell to go away, that would be cool because he could either hate or like the grey warden.

@MCfleghm yeah thats is a pretty good idea, except that dragon age 2 starts just before lothering is destroyed, and hawke is a fully grown man whilst these events take place. But decisions made in dragon age: origins do have an effect on hawke and the free marches.

@DistrictSin No this doesnt take place in the "middle" persay. Its a 10 year journey. Where our wardens took around one year to dissipate the archdemon and his horde. This starts just before lothering is destroyed. Also it was stated at PAX that decisions from awakening will have effect on this, which means that it must overlap awakening, then pass it for decisions to effect the Free Marches.

Dude that is cool. I think Hawk is the son of my grey warden and morrigan. He is the one that morrigan was talking about at the end of witch hunt. He is the one to bring a major change to the world. I can't wait to play this game. If mass effect 3 dosent come out in 2011 then this one will take GOTY.

No matter how cool it looks, the combat engine needs less slapdash loose edges and more balance. The mechanics of Dragon Age 1 were a little too open to ridiculous spell combinations, silly kiting, and general tactical idiocy. It has great potential, it just needed tightening up that the rush to market never allowed. Really hope they take some time for tactical quality on DA2.

I was under the impression that this took place after DA:O. maybe I read the explanation wrong. well, It's what I was hoping for, because then it would explain why they locked the main character as a human, since Morrigan and possibly your character are human. eh... who knows? morrigan disappeared into the Eluvian in Witch Hunt, so we don't really know what happens to her the kid. I mean, this would be as good an explanation as any. but if you're right, then disregard that.

I swear to god, this is my kid. nevermind the fact that he pulls out demon-arms from hell, since like someone said, it could be blood magic. nevermind the fact that it ends on a dragon silhouetting him, that could just be to look cool. but 2:13, when he gets all glowy. that smear of blood right next to his eye? looks a lot like bioware's warden's tattoo in the sacred ashes trailer. it's the subtle hints, not the big ones, that make me think it's me and morrigan's baby.

i hope bioware will not let ea screw us on this game like orgins it was suppose to be four player co-op not a single player game. boulders gate was fun, ea you publish goos games but leave them to the developers on how they be played.

Lmao, 4 player co-op, this is not an action game (altho DA2 is aiming for it), its meant to be played without the scripts with an isometric view (top down). Playing it otherwise is blasphemy.

Hawke is around the same time that the main party is going on their adventures in Ferelden. And who knows what Hawke's power is, but it is beast. Can't wait for this game.

@shadow36530 Sorry, but no, U play as Hawk, has no relations with the character from the first game, but there is a DLS for Dragon age: Origins calld Witch Hunt, where U find Morrigan.
And Dragon Age 2 takes time in the middle of the first game, and play through 10 years, so theres no way Hawk is the child of Morrigan and the Gray Warden.

@RandomPanda7 Sorry, I didn't play it yet, the DLC has bugs like hell, so I'm waiting for a fix. But my friend playd it and he said In the DLC when you find Morrigan she says that you didn't accept her deal to have a baby, (even if you did) but you can say "I herd your with a child" and she says "Yes, your son is safe". And he said it was short, boring, and it doesn't explain anything.

not possible, Hawke (the guy in this video) is actually from lothering (the first settlement you reach in DAO) during the last blight and managed to escape before the darkspawn destroyed it, making his/her way north, to the free marches where i am assuming the game will start off at

Knowing that the blight ended with the end of Origin,there aren't needs for

I can't wait for DA2! That Qunari looked bad ass. Bioware wasn't kidding when they said they where going to remodel the other races. It's to bad you can't be an Elf, Dwarf or Qunari in DA2.
But on the bright side, The Gameplay, particularly combat. Will be different. As far as I know, You'll fight and have full control of the character. instead of just where they go and there spells/talents.

Sadly no. I don't know why either, maybe to make they story better or so they don't have to pay a whole bunch of people to do voices for Hawke. He's fully voiced in this game, like Commander Shepard.
Felmeth will make a reappearance though. And she will look kick ass, she picked a good body to posses for 10 years. She'll look way evil and may/or may not be a party member. She will however help you out at some point that was not specified in the game. close to start most likely.

I would assume so. The city that is being attacked is Kirkwall, and it was eventually taken by the Qunari. I assume the main character - who will be named Hawke like how Mass Effect's main character is called Shepard - will have something to do with its liberation.
