  • Thanks for all the comments. I did this video for speech class.

  • @kendoll76 awesome, thanks for this video. If it was for speech class, my opinion is that you seem to speak better when not reading. Ok, off to cook my steak!

  • that is wierd

I couldnt take my eyes off that clock

    its hypnotic

  • Great video ! Thanks for helping an old Grandpa stay out of the steak house. I haven't found one yet that knows what medium rare is ! You should do more videos, I for one will be watching ! I agree on the rib eye also ,I prefer them to T bone . Thanks for your time and Information.

  • The higher temperature you cook your steak at, the less of it will be cooked the way you like it.

  • 145f is definitely verging on a medium-well done steak.

One way to achieve a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak is to give the outside a very hot and quick sear, and then transfer into an oven pre-heated to around 230f until the internal temperature hits 135f.

I'd also recommend the beer cooler method or if you're feeling a little more fancy sous-vide. These methods ensure that as much of the steak as possible is cooked to the correct done-ness.

  • didn't show the final result of color, juice stc, and there was too much talking......

  • And then he rubs it in!! Meat RUB!

  • And then he rubs it in!!

  • he used GOYA olive oil weepaaaaaa!

  • why is your clock so high?

  • Did you just stick the steaks right on the the top wrack with no pan or anything!!!

  • No ffense regarding the information presented here but please remember that the pupose of video is to "show" what you are talking about. This is a video of a guy talking/reading to a camers All the action is done with his hands NOT a video.

  • You probably want to use a meat with a lot more marbling. And the camera perhaps needs a bit more tilting.

  • Wtf? Is that blood on the plate?

  • Thanks for taking time to make this vid I'm cooking it up on sunday

  • DID YOU HEAR HIM TALK ABOUT GERMS.. THEN HE TOUCHES THE STEAK THEN THE SALT THEN THE PEPPER THEN THE OLIVE OIL...HOPE YOU DONT GET SICK NEXT TIME YOU COOK

  • Great video. Steak sounds good right about now.

  • nice tip[

  • yuou looked scared

  • hey, are you from Ukraine? You look like one of my former coworkers.

  • Thanks Kendoll

  • CANT SEE THE FOOD...

  • yeah ribeye!

  • that the leanest meat ive seen, you got cheap meat, are you kidding me where's the fat

  • i didn't get to see u rub your meat!

  • I don't use the oven "shelf" for grilling or roasting anything. They make pans with stand off, removeable cooking grills for that. Get one. Beats the heck out of washing oven shelves in the sink. ;-)

I like that the only things you put on the steak were kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, with a sprinkle of olive oil. The ONLY way to cook a great steak IMHO.

Over all, a good vid dude.

  • Thanks for the feedback and the advice!

  • red colour means dye. Be careful what you buy. I buy my beef from the farmer not the store.

  • Camera should have been tilted a bit down to show the steak.

  • Thanks for the feedback, the camera on my laptop was not the best choice. It is the only camera I own though.

  • 1. best way to cook steak at home is on a griddle pan

    2. dont rest meat for up to ten minutes as it will go cold, maximum 5 mins, depending on which cut you use

  • Thanks for the feedback and advice! I also cook my steaks in a cast iron pan which works well if you do not own one of the others.

  • thankyou

  • Just a little correction. That cut is a strip steak, AKA "New York Strip" but it's ok , I used to be a meat cutter. Keep cooking.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the correction. That is what it was on the package. I was trying to point out how to pick a good steak, through its color and fat content. Maybe you could help teach us what to look for in a steaks cut. Thanks again.

  • Great video I have been doing this for years, but my only question is when I put my steak in I put it in a baking pan always have, so ur saying put it in there without and use tin foil too catch juicies..Please let me know

  • I have put my steaks on the oven rack as well as on something like a cooling rack on a baking pan. If on the oven rack I cover part of th lower oven rack with tin foil. I do this to keep the drippings easy to clean up and from falling to the heating coil. A cooling rack in a baking pan makes life a lot easier.

  • nice vid... i will try that

  • .

Thanks for the video. My BBQ is down and I just got back from a long ride and am craving meat. Again, thanks for taking the time to teach us "tards" how to enjoy themselves.

    .

  • Thank you. I had to learn the hard way when we moved to Alaska.

  • lol i knew u lived in alaska

  • Cool video. I think I'll try this tonight. THX

  • thanks man, good info.

  • Thanks.
