First baking soda is a bicarbonate of soda, it is basically a anti-acid...it is used as a meat tenderizer, heartburn, neutralize stings/bites, burns...it wasnt the baking soda being old if anything the baking soda in the mt dew glow shit was put in to maybe make the fx last longer, but it has NO effect to the glow. yes it works yes it is real, but you have to do it pretty perfect, 3 caps peroxide to 1/4 or little less of mt.dew, too much dew with the peroxide will just dilute it and do nothing.

this actually DOES work, if you know how to do it right. in the video, the mt. dew they have, already has illuminoil in it, you don't see them add it, then you add baking soda and peroxide, and it makes it glow

It does not work. The video(s) that everyone has seen they just use the liquid from a glow stick because it looks very close to mountain dew. The "baking soda" they use in the video is most likely chalk or something else close to it.
