Nice steady video, well done. At the point of take-off, the previously drooping outer portion of the wing flexes upwards and this is an amazing sight. Quite noisy flap retraction though...
god that wing is huge. let's not speak about the flaps, they're gigantic... sometimes i ask myself how the hack that wale is flying being so damn heavy and so damn big.
@thelowryder and thats what they said in the 60s when the 747 was released! I would prefer boeing, but these planes a beautiful. If Rolls Royce can fix 'them' engines, then the plane will be even better(rer)
It's a shame you did'nt put the graphics and the frame emulation rate up to the maximum settings because flight sim x can look a lot better than this... As for an A380 who the hell mentioned one of those??
Nice video was this filmed on Flight sim 2003 or Flight sim X?? cause this is certainly not a real film of a cessna plane... Think you've been eating too many frog's teeth!!
Very quitet ride, but Airbusses tend to hold some strange noises when the clean up wings...Like the BAe 146 that always had the same trouble inside and out when flaps were pulled in...
This aircraft is a masterpiece. Soon it will have RR Trent XWB engines (90,000 Ib thrust, present thrust from Trent 900's 70,000) and in stretch version 800-900 px.
Two flights per day between hub airports. It will be the ONLY viable aircraft with rising fuel prices. Excellent aircraft.
What do you expect when you're sat right near the wings and flaps, ANY aircraft you go on you can here the flaps and alot of the time landing gear also. The reason you can hear the flaps more than usual is because the engines are so quiet if u went on a 747 and sat in a similar position the flap motors will be drowned out by the rumble of the old spinners
one time at heathrow, in carpark next to runway, i watched one take off and they are so quiet compared to 747, i just wish i will get to fly on one some day
It' s simple, the A380 is so quiet that you can actually hear the flap actuators. On older aircraft, the engine noise covers this similarily loud noise.
Also there is one more thing. The A380's hydraulics work on a higher 5000psi, rather than the usual 3000psi. That result in smaller actuators that turn faster to deliver the same work, but improve the fuel efficiency of the airplane because they are alot lighter. A bit more noise, 100% gain for the environment and the airline.
@chenoir i live on the turning point of the final of runway 24L, 24R and 23. this is in toronto. planes turn over my house to meet the runway and the only two planes that i can tell apart from the others are the roar of rolls-Royce
747 engines and the beastly ear splitting, beautiful sound of the A380! [music to my ears]
wow. gotta love the airbus a380. its sooooooo quiet! i swear, the flap retractor is louder than the turbines from inside. weird, huh..? truly amazing.
In smaller planes you will feel the turbulence like crazy, the bigger the plane the less turbulence you will feel. It is like small boat vs a big ship on a wavy sea. However if the turbulance is really bad, the pilot will change the route. They always get updated about the weather via instruments or radio and I had a case where the pilot had to change the route due to turbulence.
These are very early days for the A380. As fuel prices rise - it could well become the only viable aircraft between hub airports. A stretch version with 800-900 passengers and leaner burning engines is in the pipeline. One must think 20-30 years into the future.
@PhilG380 The Boeing 747 is over thirty years old. Of course variants of the 380 will be developed but the basis will remain - as with the 747. The aircraft is a technological masterpiece.
The future for the A380 is doubtful, terrible sales have indicated the aircraft is too big for a diminishing market, middle east carriers account for 70% of its sales, no large U.S. carrier has ordered or even considered its use. Some financial analysts have put the loss figure at near seventy five billion dollars, with no hope of ever recovering any of it.
Mexico Airport is under going renovation to provide ground support for Airbus A380. When people said that Airbus A380 can't land whatever where they want, many airport already upgraded into Airbus A380 friendly field. Time does goes by and will not halt for someone.
Yeah, the lift off was pretty soft, but I lol'd when the caption popped up "Thank You For Watching This Very Quiet Take Off On The A380-800" while the flaps were still singing.
you have this impression due to the engines are quite far from you and also the engines are below the wings witch makes a "barrier" for the sound. Plus, the flaps are noisy because he was seated right above the flap engine.
Lucky!! I live by Albany International Airport, and the only loud planes that come over my house hapens 5 times a week. It's a Boeing 727. Is a 747 louder than a 727?
