Ibuki's mid-tier, I'd say. It's hard to rank characters that HARDLY get used. She's most def a skill character. It's takes guts to play someone that takes awful damage. She's kinda like Akuma cos she can do good damage and stun and takes damage worse than she offers. It's almost like a race against the clock with her. Almost any match I have against a low-health character like Akuma, for instance, tends to be over FAST: regardless of who won.

I think you're right but it might be harder cos you're cancelling a super jump as opposed to a poke/normal (I can do a Yun cancel that's similar to Chun but on the 2p side, e.g.). I'm trying to see if I can get down the timing for this, but ONLY Aruka does this sjc into SA1, afaik :)

It is a truth that this version of 3rd Strike allows infinites and links that our US verions do not.

all versions of "3rd strike" are the same, whether it be the dreamcast stand-alone port, the ps2 anniversary collection, the japanese arcade version, or the stand-alone japanese import. The versions that are different are not actually "3rd strike" but rather earlier editions of "street fighter 3" like "new generation" or "2nd impact".

Actually, the dreamcast version is different, its more like 3rd Strike 3.1, it doesnt allow unblockables, some frames are different, among other changes that escape me. There is however, no version that allows infinites and "different links".

I heard that the DC version has the toughest cancels cos the timing is faster/stricter. Also, 2nd Impact supposedly had a BUNCH of infinites, as well as SF3: NG, and they were promptly removed from the final incarnation of the series ^_^ I miss that AWESOME super Ibuki had...I wish they just toned it down a little :P

I know exactly what you're talking about. The command is HP, then MK. You have to press them in sequence really quickly though. A really good and damaging jump in combo uses this:

jump in HP+MK, MK, EX (move where she does a bunch of kicks) It does like 60 damage or something.

i play ibuki as my main and i find her very hard to use. She has crappy evasive defense. wake up ex uppercut can only work so many times in matches =/. It's hard to get close to my opponents without getting hit -.-; Oh yeah, and duckers like Chun Li, Yang, Oro, Elena are really hard to hit. It's hard to believe Ibuki is a mid-tier. Ken's attacks are much sharper, longer, and he has evasive quick maneuvering. Ibuki's long range attacks has a time lag, saying "attack me"

i totally agree with u, her pokes are one of the fastest and has the least delay in between, her damage is huge for example ramdom hk ex hcb.k stuns really quickly too, and everything she does requires no confirm u just keep pressing those button over and over, in terms of defense she can always do wakeup exuppercut into sa3 safely, i'd even say that shes a cheap character given the little skills required to use her effectively

actually id say using ibuki is very skill intensive, its raelly hard to win with her. She takes massive dmg from attacks, her dash is pretty crappy, her dmg output isnt that great either. sure f. hk does massive dmg but it isnt exactly easy to hit ppl with it. Low pokes are mediocre as they lead to nothing, same with overhead, command overhead is slow enough that most ppl can react to it. Target combo uses EX, other than poke-> raida.
