  • @CurleyPubes Xenon II Megablast on Atari and Amiga 500 - It RULED!!!

  • This tune lead me into my love affair with Hip Hop <3

  • But none can equal..... Well you know the shit :)

  • Wow. I've heard the same radio tuning in Europop. Eiffel 65, you have some explaining too doo!

  • Sheltered Youth.. but this is where it all began for me! A link from Jarre to dance... the rest??? i don't remember but there was forest, convoy, fields and LOVE x

  • Flip side to Don't make me wait. I believe. Still got it somewhere.

  • Tim Simeon, what a genius, this track gives me super Nashwan power.

  • @seriesix The utter joy of playing that for the first few times on the Amiga... You just knew you had the best fucking machine available. lol

  • @hoffmanshades True!

  • @hoffmanshades IDK, the sampled computer version seemed to loop far too much and too obviously... not as much RAM available as in whatever BTB made the song with. I kinda preferred the synthesised Atari "remix" that played after the title screen.

However you certainly saw the difference between the two machines when playing the game itself... the ST port didn't endear itself to me. Slowwwww and terribly unresponsive, no fun at all compared to Xenon 1 or most other shooters :-(

  • amazing tune

  • good song for ever viva xenon II

  • 6 dislikes WTF..did six 400 year old women click on this by accident...and click on the dislike before they died...

  • I found this on 12" limited remix megablast rap (version) '88 at a car boot sale yesterday and grabbed it for 50 pence! get in !! will upload it as soon as I get the chance. :D TOP TUNE>^^^

  • @CannubaKid There was a version on Record mirror on 7 inch only that was completely different to that too, another rap version with Merlin on :) I got the same one as you and it's fresh! But this one is way better!

  • I used to buy Amiga magazines even though I didn't have an Amiga. To me Amiga games were something so good they were out of reach to me and my pathetic life.

  • Hardcore uproar ripped this maybe?

  • It's the first first I've heard it and I had enjoy it so much.

  • Amiga or Atari - Fuck that, C64 all day baby!

  • Dynamite Explosion!!!

  • Anyone know where the ah-yeh sample comes from 0:40

  • Everyone's talking how good this song is. We know. They declare it in the beginning.

  • classic tune from a classic album ahead of it's time

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant! I remember having such an awesome full on soundtrack was the coolest thing to happen to computer games since the ZX Spectrum sampled "He slimed me!" on the Ghostbusters game!

  • @superduperbadger Double A side man! I have the single and can't even tell you what's on the other side!!

  • @infesticon the other side was dont make me wait, also a great choon

  • to bloody right, i had an STE respect to the Amiga though, dont forget at the time it knocked the spots off any Amstrad, Speccy or dare i say it BBC( gotta love Elite on the BBC B, lol) comp..........the ST and Amiga were the Oxford and Cambridge of the PC world back in the day..........

  • fucking old school man..

  • Back in the late eighties I heard this. Wow, this brings me way back in my high school days. Todd Terry, acid house, hip house and Meat Beat Manifesto. I feel young all over again. lol...

  • yes indeed. i bought one 6 years back but still havent got it going duh

  • whoever has my vinyl of this, I want it BACK!

I am who Willis was talkin about

  • First time I've ever heard the track that Xenon 2's themetune was based on. And it's even more awesome than the game music! :D

    Amiga FTMFW

  • Wasn't it used by Lexy & K. Paul in Greatest Dj (1999) ? The beginning - only vocals.

  • can anyone tell me the name of the song at 1:27?

  • My wife just doesn't get it... but I do!!! I remember rushing out to Tandy's to get my walkman stereo to listen to this, back in the summer of '88!! and 2 years later hearing it on the ST playing Xenon by the Bitmap Brothers!!

  • lmao i had an odyssey2000!!!!!! :)

  • This sounds quite a lot like something from Kid Koala

  • What a feakin' amazing tune it still is!

  • the fact they could reproduce it on an amiga says it all lol great tune tho :)

  • I had Xenon 2 on the Atari STfm 520 while my neighbour had an Amiga. I preferred the intro on the Atari as it sounded ace, but the in game music on the Amiga did sound a touch better. They should soup this game up for a HD down-loadable version for the 360 & PS3.

  • Timeless still sounds so good today. Amiga? Atari ST? Don't care, We were there.

  • @chocky111 oh yeah...this was off Amiga's Xenon 2 Megablast and sounded like precinct 13 john carpenter sample

  • @chocky111 You are aware this is a Studio version aye?

  • Xenon 2 should be the visuals.

  • This made up of NOTHING BUT samples, imagine the royalties they woulda had to pay out!?

  • This song is brilliant I hope they re release xenon2 mega blast one day brings me back to my day as a 8 yo lol

  • As soon as the music kicks in at 0:35 I want to -

Blast the crap out of enemies in a spaceship

    and

Get on an FPS and do some ownin'

  • @FireDragonKaryu was actually released as computer game music on amiga and atari st back in the 80s

  • BOMB THE BASSSSSS !!!!

  • Fucking blinding tune!!!!!!!!!!

  • ick. computerised version is supreme.

  • Let's be honest. The Atari *was* first choice for many musicians on account of the sound chip and the integrated MIDI ports. The blitter chip helped graphically. What didn't help was the fact that Atari couldn't sell a life jacket to a drowning man.

  • @ImplodedAtom Musicians choice because of the sound chip?

Mate, three channel square wave is utter shite. That's why Amiga is MOD king.

    I'll give you MIDI though.

  • @ImplodedAtom

ha ! atari 520 st runnin creator software ! state of the art circa 1992... got my whole 92 studio and more in a dongle now !

  • pleine epok housse.....!!! c etait la folie en boite..! pour la premiere fois ont allait en discotek planer sur la muzic et pas k pour l alcol et femme...!!!...mais surtout pour la zic..!!!

    merçi ..!

  • The ST and Amiga battle will go on forever. I had an Amiga...but regardless of which kit we had, this must be one of the best soundtracks to any game and come on the late 80's and early 90's may not have had the visuals of late but had the perfect mix of graphics and gameplay....a fact which I feel is forgotten in todays blockbusters

  • @muthafunster

I have both still... in full working order :)

  • @muthafunster Amiga wins btw because of its soundchip :) but Atari is legendary also!

  • @muthafunster Ah, I have such great memories of my Amiga. I still have it in my parents' attics as a matter of fact. The games weren't as flashy, by they were special.

  • oric 1.. xenon 1... its funny now, but it was painful then... a whole 48k of memory...

  • the first time I head this song I played xenon 2 on my old commodore 8088.. black/green screen, "hercules graphics" and pc speaker sound, yeah!

  • Love 1:30

  • ah yeah.

  • Great to hear THAT again! only heard it twice when it came out in 1988! this is simply their best.work.EVER!

  • Amiga ??? lol what is that ...

    Atari 1040 ste rules .

Thnanks for this tune , i love it

  • Is this Tune remixed by you. Id like to use it within my next megademo made on a4000. Is this ok?

  • Since I don't have an Amiga....Xenon 2 FOREVER! ^_^

  • driving to the beach with 5 guys raving out the window of my RS TURBO! LOL. Those guys were the real SUPERSTAR DJ'S! PETE TONG ETC TAKE NOTE!
