I always thought the idea of a Neural Amplifier was bloody fantastic. If you were depressed or lonely, imagine being able to plug in and feel the certainty, strength and reassurance of a strong mind shielding you.

Even the placebo effect of knowing the most resilient people in your society were defending you. It's strangely uplifting.

Late game is all mindworms. Planet spawns zounds of demon boils, and every faction makes them like crazy. They kill singularity-stasis infantry like it's a scout patrol. Pretty important project.

What did this project do?

@djaked it gave all your units a defense bonus against psi attacks. *Very* useful late-game when aggressive mindworms become a real threat to your bases.

@deathwatch1980 1992 film by Ron Fricke. Largely non-narrative (ie it has no "story" as such). One of my favourites.

Fricke has made a sequel, called Samsara, which just premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, should be getting a release date soon.

Good memories. The secret projects cinematics alone are enough reason to play Alpha Centauri. They'll make you go through all the spectrum of emotions and introspections.

The Neural Amplifier project is rather scary, while the Dream Twister is an incredibly well done "sequel" with strong symbolism. I love watching them.
