actually Motor Trend did a drag of the hennesey HPE550 and it took out the shelby GT500 in the race then the HPE650 and HPE 700 both destroy the Super snake. Ad much as i like the Super snakes they just can't stand up to a HPE camaro because the SHelby is just TOOO heavy

Why is noone mentioning the 03-04 Cobra? It's the best Stang ever made, and it's ET's responds to mods better than any Mustang. Ever. The fastest non ported, non pullied, non sprayed stock eaton 03 Cobra cracks 11.5 in the 1/4. The bowtie lovers can talk all the shit they like, because 11.5 with minimal mods is phenomenal.

they underrated the Shelby in that test the GT500 ran a 11.5 Stock on MT E.T;s and with the factory tires it ran a 12.2 and the hennesy only runs 12.1 with drags and 12.7 with factory tiresand the Super Snake is a high to mid 10 second car

LOL true but guess what a stock 2010 shelby gt500, I mean bone stock ran 11.95@120mph, 60-foot was 1.913. They put MT street on it and got 11.59@118, 60 foot was 1.778. They same magazine also ran a 2008Super snake725hp did stock form 11.2 put MT on an got 10.8@ i think 130mph

Lol because it was too heavy? The problem were the tires not getting enough grip. The 08 super snake has ran a record time is 10.87 with only 725hp so the 2010 750hp should definantly do better, ofc with better tires than stock.

Actually the best time I have seen for a stock 2010 gt500 on stock tires is 12.4 a more realistic average would be in the 12.6-12.8 range, there just too darn heavy and the rear ends are outdated, but they do look cool

@kmiracle1984 Ok but, I really wasnt talking about drag cars in general I was talking more along the ways of streetcars kinda like that mustang is, IRS is the way to go because in the real word the roads turn, and that where the Mustang is numb. But yea if I wanted a pure drag car I would probably run a 4 link Dana 60 to go straight 1/4 mile at a time.

hmm not..really...true. im not sure if you're into circuit racing like KONI or the european circuit but the mustang dominates with the live rear. no joke. won 3 consecutive koni's aganist m3's, porches and z's. also won 2008 FIA GT3 which includes lotus's and a few other exotics. not to mention last years speed world challenge. so in other words mustang does perfectly well around turns and down the strip.

@JAG03064 OK see cars also need to turn and the fact of the matter is stock mustangs dont do that as well as lets say a vett with IRS, they hop pretty bad on hard corners and it slows them down, there good for straight line driving sure but not every road is straight. Oh and buddy Planetary gear sets are in automatic transmissions not differentals thats what gives you your different gear ratios with in your transmissions, I think what you where trying to say is Ring and pinion gears maybe??
