  • Do you make each part separately, so that they have some time to harden in between?

  • @Tullidar1 yes we throw the body, spout and lid at the same time, but cover the lid and spout as they will dry faster, then assemble, The lugs are added at the end. SL

  • I just started doing ceramics in school, and have learned so many new techniques from you and have excelled in my class, I'm in the middle of making a teapot and am really liking how it is coming out, and my teacher didn't even teach me most of it, so thanks!

  • the old saying stands true. those that can, "do" and those who cant "teach". I am so sick and tired of these "stars" that absolutely suck! the do not even possess any craftsmanship. It never amazes me that these so called "master" potters get any attention what so ever.

  • Can you show us how to make the handle for this?

  • Hi Simon,

Loved the series on teapots! Thank you so much! What kind of handle do you put on - do you make it yourself or is it ready-made? Thanks, Nancy in Israel

  • Thanks Simon for the amazing demonstration.

Even I do work in clay... may be I can send you some pictures of my creative work. Thanks :)

  • the most burning question: any recommendations on making a teapot that doesn't drip when pouring?

  • Hi

Teapot spouts in clay are a bit of a compromise, between practicality and elegance/beauty. Too elegant and they get 'biffed' & break , too 'stout' & they pour not !! well not without a dribble. The science of a good pouring lip is elusive it seems , ...sharp & it gets knocked & chipped, blunt & a bad pourer - somewhere in between maybe. Anyone out there got any advices on the topic, get sharing it !! SL

  • Looks like you can be setting up a YouTubers' course soon, Simon! Wouldn't that be a good giggle?

Thanks so much for making this teapot series. I have been riveted!

  • Hi M

I look forward to it ! SL

  • Thank you Simon! Have a teapot fever recently and can't get enough for all the information and instructions that I can get my hands on. Your instruction is soooo clear and valuable! Hope I can have a chance to come to Spain and learn from you!!!!

    Looking forward for more clips!!!

  • Hi It makes me happy to hear such comments - thankyou !

    SL

  • That was wonderful - My instructor demos part of a process for one class, then completes it during another - what you miss, you miss! I saw spouts made, but not how they are attached. This was invaluable. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Hi

..yes the continuity is important to see "how " it all comes together !

    Regards SL

  • Thank you so much Simon for taking time out of your obviously busy schedule, to teach and instruct your fans. I can't wait for the next video!
