My mum met Sharon O' Neill before she became famous, she told me she was 5'2 and she once performed at Alibabas in Cuba Street now known as San Francisco Bath House.
Im a 60 year old Aussie and have listened to Sharons songs for all this time, I always wanted to meet her but I guess thats just a dream now,an epitamany of talent ,class and an era that sadly we ageing once young will never expierince again, but would not change anything."Well there is one thing I would change and that is realizing that youth does not last forever, there were people in my life that I cared about and now I dont know where they are and I miss them..
@critchley3819 I totally understand where you are coming from, I too wanted to meet Sharon, never give up hope as you never know what the future holds.
ok, so every kiwi high school boy in 1980 was in love with Sharon O'Neill. I think that is pretty well documented by the previous comments. I was, too. But damn, this is a great song. She rocked.
Was away from NZ for many years and when I got back this was one of the first cd's I got. Still think she is one of the best female artists to come out of NZ.
She is just so very beauitful. So luckey, and proud that we can call her a Kiwi. What a babe!! You hear Maxine on the radio often, but they should play some of her other music too. "Maybe" is a lovely song..... Trying so hard to find a copy of Smash Palace. The theame from that brilliant film of the same name.
This is a really great song. Very under-rated. How about the first line "Let me out, like a new blood at the slaughter" - Sharon is a very gifted lyricist. She hasn't released anything new since 1991's "The Edge Of Winter". Words is her best work to date.
Man I was nuts for her when I was young...ended up dating a lookalike ....I think she broke up with me when I asked her to sing "Asian Paradise" in the spa
great song...if Fleetwood Mac wrote it it would have defintely earnt a place on Rumours...its thats good

I'm 16 and wish I wasn't a 90's baby but an 80's one!

@LeahJane1995 A 70s baby (like myself) would have been better, you would appreciate the music so much more, as you would of been listening to it.
