  • I have a strained rotator cuff as well. Would these excersises work for people who have pain in a diffrent part of there shoulder? I have pain in all areas or my shoulder but I have a full range of motion. Also, I think I strained it working out (pushing myself to hard, bad form, ect). Could I just do a regular bench presses and other normal workouts just with much less weight?

  • i cannot lift my arm over my shoulder and my range of motion is very limited. There is pain up and down my arm. my fingers get numb and there is a burning feeling in my shoulders. I am 63 years old and it's really becoming a problem. I' most of the time I have to turn my whole body, to move my arm to the front of me. I dread surgery, but it seems like that is the only solution, my email istor233@yahoo.com. Please advise

  • @jamie3426 A major rotator cuff tear can be fixed without surgical procedure and simple exercises such as these. You should visit your doctor and have it looked through an MRI scan or x-rayed to see if surgery is required to reattach your tendon to the bone as your numb fingers could indicate nerve damage.

  • thank you i just recently injured my shoulder and didn't know exactly where the pain was coming from but with these exercises i was able to locate the pain and work it out to reduce the pain now it doesn't hurt as much its getting better

  • Hey Kristen-

  • HEY PLEASE HELP ME! My injury is similar to this. When I raise my arm to the side I hear a little click. When I overdo it or over use the shoulder there is noticeable pain. What the heck is going on here? How long should I rest it?

  • Thank you! I have a similar (angles as described) pain that came from doing far too many pushups for my ability--I'm going to incorporate these during my recovery. Thanks!

  • Very nice video. Good explanations, useful info. Thank you for making it. I like getting info from a PT.

  • What is your opinion of using resistive tubing in weight bearing (standing) with good mechanics? I understand about pain free, however, there are times the patient needs to move into pain to some degree, not enough pain to cause inflammation and guarding, but enough to encourage elasticity in the end-ranges of motion.

  • how many times a day should the exercises be done. and should you be doing both at the same time? one right after another and about how many day to recover, any ways of knowing without damaging it again without going to a Dr

  • thankyou very much.....!

  • Thanks for taking the time to offer your valuable advice.

  • About 5 days ago, I landed on my shoulder one night and woke up the next morning with it being super pain full and not being able to move it. Today, only the tip of my shoulder BONE hurts!? would this be a bone injury? Or maybe a strained ligament?

  • I had the EXACT same type of pain/injury. This was about four weeks ago. The pain gradually went away and now it's fine. Hopefully the same goes for you. I think that I just strained one of the ligaments in the shoulder.

  • My right shoulder has been bothering me for four years now after popping it out the first time from swimming.

I've been doing plyometrics, and strength training on the deltoid area and it helped minize the frequency of my shoulders popping out. It happens mostly with ballistic movements like throwing a ball, or even as mundane as rebounding a basketball.

It's 3am here in the east coast and I'm going to the gym to begin doing these exercises. haaa

    Thanks.

  • My glenoid was screwed back together on the 10th feb. My deltoid muscle middle (upper outside arm) is hurting still after all this time. Is there anything I can do? Any advice?

    Many thanks.

  • great one

  • how often should i do these excercises? daily? and how often can i stretch my shoulder? is it safe to stretch it multiple times a day?

  • Hello. I have been lifting weights for a long time, but for some reason when I was in the gym doing a bench press set my left shoulder started to hurt so I stopped doing the exercise. I was wondering if this exercise would help, or maybe I strained the muscle or something. I only feel pain when I do the bench press, never when arm is at rest. Sometimes I hear popping and there is a little stiffness. Thank you very much.

  • hi!i got a really bad shoulder pain on my right shoulder,it looks differnt the the left shoulder, my dr. told me to go get an x-ray and i did but nothing showed up saying it was wrong.i was just wondering if you would know what i should do or where i should go?

  • You need an MRI!

  • Hi, my mom has shoulder pain. she doesn't do any sports and i'm guessing it's due to arthritis, can she also do this exercise? how many times a day? a reply would be really nice. thanks

  • Hello

Ive been doing these excercies for 5 days now and my pain seems to be getting worse? is this a normal thing? is it part of the healing process?

A reply would be great cheers

  • Gday, Great Video

I have a slight discomfort when doing overhead activities in my shoulder. It happend doing weights. The pain is not constant, I do kungfu three times a week and was training gym 5 times a week but have stopped now to rest shoulder... It seems to be getting slowly better? Have u torn it or how serious is it?

  • Often poor posture and body mechanics with normal everyday tasks can lead to the same joint discomfort. Make sure you retract your shoulder instead of slumping forward. The shoulder is designed to work well in good alignment and structures get strained when we are not using good posture.

  • Hi! I get a very mild pain/discomfort in my shoulder after i do a big chest workout. Now i have a interesting question. After wondering why only 1 shoulder hurts i decident to consult my mirror. I've noticed that due to posture 1 shoulder is usually lower than the other probably putting excess stain due to a worse angle. I've shortened range of motion, warm up well, do the exercises. does it sound like posture could be the problem? It would suck.. postures not something i can instantly change :/

  • Thank`s!. 5*/ fav.

  • @injuryrehabadvice omg, he is right,

  • I got the same problem by I do not do sports so why I go it?

  • This is great. I have shoulder pain that sets in whenever I try any press- or overheadexcercise.

  • Thanks, good explanation for my physical therapists advice to strengthen shoulder.

  • You are very right many focus on the larger muscle groups but forget about the small muscle groups such as the "Rotator Cuff" (teres minor/major, etc...). I have learned the hardway that if I do not do isolating exercises for the rotator cuff I am apt to pain and limited movement - so I constantly have to remember to do them. I thought I had a tear but it was a minor strain is really scared me...
