Agree with xrxs - modern rock really bites compared to swing and early rock. You can actually dance to this music and it sounds WAY better and is way less stiff.

Hollywoods fats also did all this stuff and nailed it right , something like 30 years ago. Rock the blues harder,,,old people like this stuff though...if there still alive.

Music that swings is almost non-existent in modern pop. Most rock is boxy. The Insomniacs are younger guys with, surprise, taste.  The goal is not to be "original," as much as the goal is to play quality music. Perhaps if more musicians their age could really swing......and knew what that meant, the standard, staggering poseurs wouldn't be always stinking it up at the end of late-night TV shows.

Newsflash: people like to play STYLES of music. Blues, swing and jazz all overlap. The point is to have fun, apply your style and taste to what you play. There is nothing NEW in music. There are only variations.

I was right by the stage watching the band at the Calgary Blues Festival.. and totally mesmerized! Awesome band! I bought the album in it-tunes the next morning..
