The trouble with a 50 second clip of Bob Newhart is that he comes from an era when great comedians were not laugh-a-minute clowns. Like Shelley Berman, the chuckles often did not begin until a couple minutes into a skit, and even then, the big laugh might not occur until FIVE minutes in when the irony was revealed. It was a style that required a patient, cerebral audience (which is probably why most people today can't grasp the greatness of Newhart and Berman). Next time, post more of Bob.

Fifty three seconds of Bob Newhart is worth more than five and a half minutes of most other stand-up comedians.
