@mvakleko Most of the new PS3s don't have an SDHC slot and it's also possible to record to the camera's internal memory. Either of those would eliminate that as an option. But hey, if that works for you, more power to ya!
I think they require you to plug it so that it prevents someone from transferring video with a low battery thus risking the chance that they lose footage if it lost power during transfer.
cool do how is the Picture quality on this Canon? Im deciding between the Canon HV30,Canon HF10, or the Canon HF11. im looking for a simple camcorder to use i wont be editing anything just record some family vacation footage.
No; I was using my PS3 remote, but a regular PS3 controller should work as well. Once the HF11 is connected, it works the same as an external usb flash drive.
why don't you just stick you sdhc card in the ps3 sd slot...I find this just works much better

I tried this with my HF S100. It worked, but for some reason, it would only play back the videos in 576p as opposed to 1080i. Any idea why that is?

I'm anxiously waiting for delivery of my HF11. NO MORE moving parts! WOOHOO!!!

Too bad. Fat32 means 4Gb. and that size and HD videos do not get along very well. Any solution???

The built-in 32G is also FAT32.

Cool. thanks for the info. Do you know if it can be used to back up you Videos if you conect an external Hard Drive through USB to the PS3????
That way I wouldn't have to use the PC. Best.
bethenco01 3 years ago
Yes, provided that your hard drive is formatted in FAT32.
