  • Needs more cowbell.

  • I took this album to a Muddy Waters show at the Marble Bar in Baltimore MD. (1979) and got Muddy and the band to sign it. James Cotton stopped in unannounced . He played with them for second show James Cotton signed it also. Five years later, it went with me to Consitution Hall in DC to see Johnny Winter and he sighned it too! It may be the only one in the world with every artists signature, framed with the ticket stubs!! ps.- NOT FOR SALE

No, one person is a boy who dresses like a woman.

  • Makes me feel like a man everytime I hear this song

  • il blues parla sovente di tragedie intime...ci sono però quelli che io chiamo i "blues di autostima" questo di Muddy waters e Bo Diddley ne è il manifesto..

  • Best version Ever!

  • Great version, as far as I'm concerned Muddy Waters 'wrote the book' and he is so sorely missed.

    The man!

  • Fuckin right

  • Two blues legends, how can you go wrong?

  • Muddy makes me sweat. But this song thickens my skin!

  • This song always reminds me of Better Off Dead. First time I hoid it.

  • WTF!!! O_O

    MANNISH super song!!!

  • An appeal to twentysomethings: Destroy your TV, destroy garbage of pop music. Ad fontes, my Dears, ad fontes! After all, we're creating culture. We're creating future.

  • Wow! Glad to find this today. Loved it since nearly the first time I heard this version, if not the first. Passionate and powerful, and it shows that Muddy kept the faith of the Blues all his life. Amazing!!! Thank you!!!

  • YES this is the _______!

  • thank you

  • Own this album. Never forget the first time I heard this.

    Incredible.

  • waters n winter....you cannot go wrong

  • Yeah...this is it. ;-)

  • Come on, everybody, this HAS to have 0 "dislikes" - don't you think?

  • Thank you, dude - this is THE version!!!

  • i do agree with u and admit i got carried away,,,its just that every other version left me hangin,,,,this is the 1rst version of i ever heard back in 81

  • 200 likes, 0 dislikes.

    Everything right this mornin'.

  • I agree. This is his most amazing version of this song. Thank you for adding it !

  • I love covering this song live, purely because I can shout WOOOOOOOOOO and YEAHAAAAH randomly every now and again

  • Great musicality but this song reinforces so many negative and primitive stereotypes of what masculinity is about...but still a kickass song.

  • so simple, so hard; so beautiful, the song who made me love the blues child!

  • Of all different kinds of music there has been, this is in the top 5 greatest ever.

  • THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE "MANNISH BOY"/ AKA "I'M A MAN" !!!! ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST TRASH.

  • @TOMMCG348 This is great, too. But the original is definitely NOT trash.

  • I had it on cd: The hitsound of Levi's 501 (jeans commercials)

  • "...that represent 'Man'..." I want a double shot of whiskey now... "...that represent I'm grown..."

  • One of many, many, many reasons I love the blues... When there's someone yelling and shouting while he's playing, you KNOW there's some feeling in it.

  • I'm a ROLLIN' STONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Outstanding

  • "Ain't that a man..?" I wish Obama would "Man up" by the way..

  • @TJTele How so?? How do you wish Obama would "man up"??

  • Perfection!

  • This is the track that should be used for Viagra commercials.

  • Ain't that a MAN???????

  • You damn right "no dislikes" - you damn right....

  • @cokerg2003 We will find that one smart ass and bring him to justice!

  • @coryonly Let me know when you want me to ride shotgun!!

  • @cokerg2003 any day now... any day haha

  • @coryonly Let me know when - I'll ride shotgun!!

  • @cokerg2003 FFFFUUUCCK who ruined it!

  • This song always reminds me of Ray Liotta snorting a monster line of cocaine.

  • @dovespin1 yes it does!

  • This is so bad-ass!!

  • if its cool with brother whitey, i would like to ask does anyone else like the film risky business?

  • LMAO @ 5:14: "You got that mothafucka!"

  • Where's the 'HELL YEAH!' button?

  • The ultimate anthem of masculinity! Damn, this is THE song. Can always make me feel good.

  • I'm grown !!!!! Muddy and johnnie are the real deal. Don't hurt me chile.

  • original version is great, but this version is more soulful, and makes you want to grab your woman and groove her.

  • This is the mother of all riffs.

  • this should be the anthem for all men across the world.

  • I prefer the original version (This version just sounds too white- thanks to the overdrive on the guitar and Johnny Winter's shouting)

And yes I'm a white guy--but authentic Mississippi Delta blues is strictly reserved for those who are born with a "Negro Soul"

  • @ohso41 your comment is the exact opposite of what the blues are all about friend. it's about expression, and trying to box the definition of the blues into some nice little box that you like is not the point. the blues is not white, black, brown, whatever...anyone can feel it. the mississippi delta is not the blues and the blues is not the mississippi delta. SRV baby!

  • thanks so much for posting this version.

    this is my favorite one.

  • I'm a man

    YEAH!!!!!!!

  • I loves me some Muddy & Johnny, long live them blues.

  • Better off Dead,1968 Camaro, WOOOOOO!!!

  • so good!!!!

This is The version from Risky Business!

    ITs a Killer.

    Best production*.

  • When I have a son I will pump this song stright to the womb so when he is born he will already be a badass

  • @KidChaos5150

    lol that sounds sweet!

  • There is NOTHING better than THIS version of THIS song anywhere. Johnny Winter's respect and love for Muddy brought out the definitive Blues performance. You need look no further, this is the one. Muddy is the man - "no B".

  • This has been a favorite album of mine for years. It's raw, basic blues. Johnny Winter was instrumental in the making of this. And harmonica by James Cotton, it's a blues lovers dream album!!

  • Muddy Waters won his only Grammy award because of this album. Besides playing guitar, Johnny Winter also produced the album.

  • love it....the guitar is crazy!!!!!!

  • Perhaps the most WICKED version of the song ever recorded.....

    Lord have mercy!

  • THANK YOU x 1000.

  • BLESS you for posting this; THE version of THE song!

  • It Don't Get any Better then This. Cuz This Is It !!!!

  • thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. Muddy did a ba-zillion versions of this song, but this one is my all-time favorite. It is perfect. Stripped to the bone, pure, and with impeccable production values. Very tough to pull off. The riff is atavistic. Heard once, it is never forgotten.

  • ADDENDUM:

    Note top zorman1875:

Don't you just DIG the LP credits that read "Johhny Winter: Guitar, Miscellaneous Screaming"?

I *KNEW* that my record collection NEEDED that disc, m8! LOL!

  • Note to mikeemike11:

    Agreed, m8..

McKinley Morganfield (Civilian name of Muddy Waters) had a talent like a fine wine...it mellowed & improved with AGE!

This is my ALL-TIME UBER-MEGA-ULTRA RAVE-FAVE of ALL the Muddy repeertoire...Second to NONE!

    Thanx fer this, m8's...

  • you're right my man this is the best version in my opinion too

  • thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much ive been looking for this for ages <3

  • Delta blues on steroids, the way rock n roll was born.

  • I thought it was obvious that this is the best version, but couldn't find it either on youtube or any other place. I really don'y know why, cause it's really really good! thanks!

  • my favorite too, glad you posted

  • There just aren't the words to say how amazing this is.

  • Johnny Winter on guitar and shouting!!!!!!!!!!!!

    F***ing superb.

Two best men in the World. (him and MM)

  • i'd say i prefer the 1971 live one, but annoyingly they don't have the beginning bit on youtube, so this is probaby the best version on youtube.

  • This is the first version I heard and the version I compare all the rest of the versions to....I agree with you hypershadow647 ...this is the best....this whole album is awesome.

  • This is also my favorite version
