@Madbutcher305 well even saying theyre both aimed at metal is debatable. the explorer was created long before "metal" was even thought of. Whenever you have a floyd rose bridge, you know you are aiming at solo lead guitar work, the explorer is a rhythm/riff guitar. thats why its not a fair debate, even the scale lengths are different. that further proves how theyre incomparable. One is made for soloing, the other for rhythm.
Fair enough, I guess; however both guitars can be used for either, just they suite certain roles better. That just means that there's a lack of versatility and that should count against them.
The B.C. is a good guitar. It's more playable, just as heavy, and has lots of great features. In reality, the Gibson has statisticly nothing over its Epiphone equivalent, and while being a pretty good guitar, it lacks the metal pedigree of the Warlock.
Perhaps now's the time to think outside the box; not everything made outside the USA is cheapo crap; just look at Marshall!
i would not trade a gibson explorer for 10 balsa woodwartribes.Gibson does make a 24 fret explorer, besides 2 more fretts who cares? The war tribe will always be unbalanced no matter where you put strap button.
After adjusting your action on your bridge, did you ever think to adjust your truss rod? I had the same issue with my explorer, a small adjustment to the truss rod and the thing is fucking perfect.
they are both good metal guitar, there are some really bad B.C. rich's while some are really good, gibsons got more different kinds of good guitars butthe good b.c. ones sound better, (own oppinian)
"...so the acces to the lower frets is extremely easy. So if i play stuff like this...(MAXIMUM SHREDDING, ORGASM)...is extremely easy to play, absolutely i've never..."
"...the fret work on this guitar on this guitar is so nice and so flawless than i can put the action very very low, with very minor fret buzz...so if i play stuff like this (BETTER SHRED I'VE EVER SEEN, SECOND ORGASM)...so my think is...
Ok, i'll just hit the "i like" button and get out of my house running. Please don't shred me.

@Dependentio DUDE!...stop being a noob....it does not go that kind of way....USA is not the only country that can make GOOD guitars....KOREA can make good guitars like USA does....
its fucken epic fail! gibson is so much better, feeling, SOUND! its a real guitar with the real wood in it! A honduran mahogany vs chineese "mahogany"... no fucking way, i heard both of these guitars and the gibson is much more good sounding.
he may be righ on all of these things as gibson is nowhere near as goood as it used to be, BUT has anyone here honestly used any bc rich for jazz or blues, its only good for metal really. However on myv explorer although i play mostly metal and rock n roll i can also play blues and jazz great on it
@Deathaxheavymetal i was referring to the bc rich as daewoo, bc rich has no place to be compared to a gibson, the only thing i agree with is that gibsons come with a high premium, this can be greatly reduced by looking at some of the high end epiphone models.
Gibson is far to hit or miss on all their guitars! The Les Paul's sound amazing but the Explorer's time has come and gone in my opinion. B.C. Rich always makes great guitars and the quality is spot on from guitar to guitar. The Warlock & Virgin I had were the best guitars I've ever owned. Can't wait for my new Warlock to arrive! And yes I've owned Gibson's in the past and was always disappointed.
I sold my BC Rich and still run my Explorer. I have yet to play a guitar as smooth as my custom Gibson. My Action is ultra low without buzz, I would NEVER give up my Explorer for a warlock.
this is not a comparison, it is impossible to compare these 2 guitars, because 1 has a tremolo and 24 frets, and the other has a standard bridge and 22 frets, also the guitars are made for different styles of music
epic fail....Gibson for life!....btw your sloppy,my 90 year old grandma with no fingers plays the guitar better. wish i could get the last 10 min of my life back...i hate you.
@danecook321 - i dont think i did ask you,no complaints about mine, not custom or anything just gibson usa,got the 496r and 500t pickups,do just fine i can create any tone i crave, sustain out of this world, worth every penny.just had to adjust the neck when it arrived,no problems at all...guess i got lucky and got a "good one"i would invest in gibson over bc rich any day.
@81solidsnake I recently bought a a Les Paul copy buy a company called Xaviere. This guitar is 200 bucks had it felt the same as a Gibson, stayed in tune awesomely, and the sustain was awesome, about as well as any Gibson that I've played. I swapped out the pickups for some Seymour Duncans, so all in all, it only costed me $350. I'd say that's better than paying 1000-2000 more for having the word "Gibson" on the headstock!
@Ernesto9IL Just saying there are some good surviving guitars from 60's-80's. Not saying vintage guitars are the best; a lot of them were terribly unplayable and were fixed. Gibson 1990-present blows. I prefer Fender, Carvin, and even Agile over them.
So, this video means that all the 84`s ones are shit? But what about the 76 RI? If I like the Gibson`s sound and the explorer body, which guitar would You recommend to me?
If you compare USA to Import, why not make the Gibson (or Baldwin) the cheap version versus a handmade work of art BC RICH from the USA. There's no contest then I suppose. I know I just got a BC Warlock and a Epoch LP to compare, and the Epoch can't hold a candle
well, the 22 fret Gibson has the neck pickup positioned closer to the nut, giving it a sweeter tone.
I strongly disagree with what you're saying. You just seem to like the BC Rich and no matter what, it's "better" than the Gibson. You go and tell Slash, Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde that they all should get floating bridge, because the tune-o-matic doesn't allow you to adjust strings height individually.
And you could have taken it to a luthier and give it a proper setup, but whatever...
@ironrzk this dude a scam artist wanting donations .for what .dont gety me wrong hes a great shreder but damn if i was as rough as he is when playing now wonder shit fucks up just watch.
@ironrzk Idiot... Slash loves BC Rich, and his early LPs are made custom replicas, not actual Gibsons. I just found a site that ACTUALLY documents the copies he's owned
ive played a few gibsons and a few bc rich . Bcrich are better by far but keep one thing in mind. all of thm suck unless yu get the really high end PLATINUM PRO series. but if ur comparing 2 gibson then the price tag for them should be no problem.
i played alot of gibsons on my trip to the US but i wasnt as imprssed as i was hoping . tbh id just get a highr priced epiphone and change the pickups.
but high end bcrich really do own alot of gibsons . NEVER GET A BRONZE SERIES BCRICH. <shit
@TBaGzZProductionz Steer clear of anything but an 80s NJ import, or the latest neck thru NJ classics, those two you mentioned are the cheapest BCR "crap" honestly
gibson don't burn to make metal guitars the best comparition as agibson goldtop or gibson les paul vs other rock guitar and not metal guitar. you macke a metal comparition and in a rock comparition tue winner as gibson
@rockingrugger The BC Rich with EMGs is for metal... I could say the same about any guitar. The shape is the shape, has nothing to do with music, and EMGs are designed primarily as active pickups, and since Anthrax and Metallica both used 81 and 85s, that's what I wound up buying as well, for my BCR Bich
@MetallicBill the guy i was replying to was saying that gibson don't make any primarily 'metal' guitars. i know the shape doesnt make a difference to how a guitar sounds... well, actually the different amounts of wood for different shapes might... but nvm, haha
I Insist on Ernie Ball Slinky strings on all my axes with tremolos, those strings seem to be the most durable and they stretch well with all the action i put thhem through, I have used slinky on non tremolo guitars but i quit doing that because i grew tired of having to re tune the guitars after 2 songs played....i dont really know much about the Markley blue strings mostly because i cant afford to buy them!
i haven't tried a bc rich guitar before, and i enjoyed the explorer i played at guitar center and found it to be amazing. it one of the best guitars i played, and i was kind of shocked to see the review it got.
Yeah, if you actually played the gibson properly rather than just slag the bridge off, youd know that it was actually better. i have both these guitars, and the gibson sounds and plays better.
@Kingddd333 I got my Gibson Explorer in 2008, and I love it to bits. I've not had a single problem with the quality of my guitar nor the other guys that own Gibson's I know. But, then again, there are stories...
@IbanezJoey Well again people say that ltd esps are beastly, they ARE, I love them, but they have lots of problems; loose jack, loose pickup switch, and lots of buzzing... I guess I have to try the guitars I want before I start saying stuff from stories
I'm sorry, but James plays ESP, Gibson, Ken Lawrence customs, James Trussart customs, Zemaitis, used to play a V copy, and one Line 6 acoustic. He uses ESP mostly out of endorsement, but he still breaks the rules and plays Gibson a lot as well.
@DeadlyDictator it was a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom that he made up himself. ESP came out with their version but its was trash comparitively and cost $10,000
Gibson Does Make 24 Fret Guitars!!! Double Cutaway Les Paul, Holy V, Tony Iommi Signature SG, Ect... Why Don't You Complain About Fender? There Guitars Are 21 Fret!!!
@rgjmce666 yes it would particularly in this case I made that comment because he loves the kahler setup possibilities and dislikes that gibson bridge but he wants a fixed bridge hence you cross that two and you have a: kahler fixed bridge
But since it was a shitty guitar he should just buy another... which he did.
lol gibson.... EPIC FAIL,i love my beast and warbeast gibson does not deserve the pricing,at all. ps to the ppl whos thinking to buy best models of gibson for 12.000 dollars, try the best metal guitars ever made by B.C Rich.Check their handmade shop,u can customly order a guitar and it will DESERVE the price.Great review btw
i know im trying to put the emgs chrome 81 on it check my channel where i played living after midnight with it its kick ass and while your there please comment rate and suscribe
i think tremolo systems just gives ya more tricks and sounds you can make so for lead guitarist musta have in my opinion but regardless of the tremolo i happen to like bc rich better than gibsons. gibsons are good if you are playing a certain type of music. the reason i like em is because the neck isnt to airy or to bassy if you try all guitars are out there they seems to fall to one side or the other bc rich seems to be in the middle.
it depends.... when i first played guitar i was a lead guitarist but when i first used a tremolo it was a must have to me and a wah pedal :) but i use string thru for practice much more easy to setup
@RUBYPRINCESS455 warlock i not a fan of flames and not the best. gibson has great sound, a little better than warlock but its both good in other ways. id go with the gibson too
@RUBYPRINCESS455 I owned a USA 88 Gibson V, did not like the neck, prefer the Explorer body and the Gibson pickups are class, but the BC Rich Warlock has good balance and the strings and fretboard play the biggest role in how it "feels"
Not really, they're more for rythm. Get one thats lighter, and preferably one that has a whammy bar, or one that doesnt run into absolutely everything.
can u do a test on bc rich nj deluxe warbeast? i want to no what defects that guitar has and what it has good of great on it pls tell me what u get out of that or make a video plz thanks logan
You know what they say...
When you get a room full of people playing BC Rich guitars...
It sounds like a Nirvana concert.

It's funny how the gibson fanboys don't acknowledge the empirical method with which he decided the results.

Gibson the best..........

i haven't tried a bc rich guitar before, and i enjoyed the explorer i played at guitar center and found it to be amazing. it one of the best guitars i played, and i was kind of shocked to see the review it got.
stickdude566 1 year ago
Yeah, if you actually played the gibson properly rather than just slag the bridge off, youd know that it was actually better. i have both these guitars, and the gibson sounds and plays better.

I wish esp had their explorer copy out again... I honestly I just love that explorer shape, but gibsons quality control is going downhill
Kingddd333 1 year ago
@Kingddd333 I got my Gibson Explorer in 2008, and I love it to bits. I've not had a single problem with the quality of my guitar nor the other guys that own Gibson's I know. But, then again, there are stories...
IbanezJoey 1 year ago
@IbanezJoey Well again people say that ltd esps are beastly, they ARE, I love them, but they have lots of problems; loose jack, loose pickup switch, and lots of buzzing... I guess I have to try the guitars I want before I start saying stuff from stories

I love that remelo riff man!

I'm sorry, but James plays ESP, Gibson, Ken Lawrence customs, James Trussart customs, Zemaitis, used to play a V copy, and one Line 6 acoustic. He uses ESP mostly out of endorsement, but he still breaks the rules and plays Gibson a lot as well.
dapurplesmurf 1 year ago
@dapurplesmurf the original iron cross was a gibson
DeadlyDictator 1 year ago
@DeadlyDictator it was a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom that he made up himself. ESP came out with their version but its was trash comparitively and cost $10,000

Gibson Does Make 24 Fret Guitars!!! Double Cutaway Les Paul, Holy V, Tony Iommi Signature SG, Ect... Why Don't You Complain About Fender? There Guitars Are 21 Fret!!!

why not put a Kahler fixed bridge on the Gibson? It'd solve the setup issues
geicowithdagheko1 1 year ago
@geicowithdagheko1 wouldn't it be simpler to just get a better guitar?
rgjmce666 1 year ago
@rgjmce666 yes it would particularly in this case I made that comment because he loves the kahler setup possibilities and dislikes that gibson bridge but he wants a fixed bridge hence you cross that two and you have a: kahler fixed bridge
But since it was a shitty guitar he should just buy another... which he did.

I've got a B.C Rich Warbeast Trace (I just payed 260 €). It's not an incredible guitar, but the neck is a FUCKING masterpiece. Promise

active pickups?
mick00guitarplayer 1 year ago
Though I love Bcrich way more than Fender , There is a Big advantage you get with 22 frets that you dont get with 24.
Its The Neck pickup
On a 22 fret guitar , the neck pickup sounds so much warmer than on a 24 fret guitar , And if you use the neck pickup alot its alot more noticeable.
So i prefer 22 frets over 24

christslayer666 1 year ago
is not even that is signed by all four members of megadeth and im afraid that because of my body sweat will erase their signature

i think tremolo systems just gives ya more tricks and sounds you can make so for lead guitarist musta have in my opinion but regardless of the tremolo i happen to like bc rich better than gibsons. gibsons are good if you are playing a certain type of music. the reason i like em is because the neck isnt to airy or to bassy if you try all guitars are out there they seems to fall to one side or the other bc rich seems to be in the middle.
legalace 2 years ago
it depends.... when i first played guitar i was a lead guitarist but when i first used a tremolo it was a must have to me and a wah pedal :) but i use string thru for practice much more easy to setup
cowsgomoo1293 2 years ago
I like the Gibson better. Just my opinion.
RUBYPRINCESS455 2 years ago 15
@RUBYPRINCESS455 warlock i not a fan of flames and not the best. gibson has great sound, a little better than warlock but its both good in other ways. id go with the gibson too
mimekiller17 1 year ago
@RUBYPRINCESS455 I owned a USA 88 Gibson V, did not like the neck, prefer the Explorer body and the Gibson pickups are class, but the BC Rich Warlock has good balance and the strings and fretboard play the biggest role in how it "feels"
MetallicBill 1 year ago
i know it sounds weird but i like high action lol

would the explorer be good for a lead guitarist?
Sparechnge 2 years ago
its tough to get a straight answer out of that Sparechnge. You should go to a shop and hold an explorer in ur hand, play a few licks.
brooklynstudio 2 years ago
Not really, they're more for rythm. Get one thats lighter, and preferably one that has a whammy bar, or one that doesnt run into absolutely everything.
