That was incredible...i first thought it was a magic trick of some kind but now...i...was that just regular old coffee in regular old freezing cold wintery Winnipeg?
Yep - Unfortunately it was very real. Stay tuned... We're planning more of these to illustrate how cold it gets here. If any of you have suggestions of what you'd like to see, please post.
no thanks i dont want it to snow in july. wpg has hotter summers than anywhere else except maybe southers bc but it just rains there. im happy in winnipeg. lol
your so wrong. Im from BC, it rains there a lot in BC yes during WInter as opposed to snow. I lived on Vancouver Island for a long time and one summer we literally had 6 days of rain the whole summer. It was bloody hot. I also lived and DO live in Winnipeg now. These summers are nothing compared to what I had that year and a the years before that.
last summer was an exception, it sucked, in general tho the summers here average 28-32 degrees in general consistancy. other places get that too in canada but its more consistant here, sometimes its not, anyways w/e i could care less i like winnipeg and thats it lol . ive been to many many many north american cities i love to travel and see other places and experience it but im always callin wpg home. even with the -40 to + 40 seasons lol
I love doing that and who ever said its like Haiti here has a very wierd head on their shoulders because winnipeg like Haiti ummmmm does Haiti even get snow?
@NachraLigre i grew up in winnipeg :) ya twas super cold in winter..i live in england now..i dont knw whether its jst cuz im older now and have become a pussy or wat but i think its more of a damp cold (cold bones) here ..where as out ther when i was a kid it felt like dry cold..if that makes any sense ;p
@serloinz nope, not a pussy, I grew up in Toronto, lived in England and WPG, now in Saskatoon (-33C today with -43C wind chill!), and I feel colder in TO and UK too, it's the moisture like you said. In the prairies dress appropriately and your fine. Moisture just seems to creep in no matter what you're wearing.
@serloinz That makes perfect sense. I moved to Ontario a couple of years ago, and whenever people ask about how cold Winnipeg is my response is exactly that.
@NachraLigre Witehorse is a different place than Yellowknife. Yellowknife is significantly colder. And Iqaluit is significantly colder than either of those again. (I'm a Yellowknifer currently living in Winnipeg. There's no comparison)
the cold doesnt bother me, but here where i live in australia, it may get to -3 over night i think thats 25-30f? people thing thats cold. maybe they would have something too really compain about if they moved to canada.
I've never tried that with a hot coffee before, but I'll have to now!
I used to live in The 'Peg and I loved it. If you dress for it you'll be okay, even when it's really cold out. Skating, X-C skiing, hiking, it's all good :-)
In fact, I felt colder in Vancouver in winter than I ever did in Winnipeg! The damp cold there goes right through your clothes and down to your bones. That's something they'll never admit to in lotus-land, but it's true!
wow cool vid bro i thought that was cool, i am going to sub to your vids come check myn out bro tell me what you think and if you like sub back peaceout 4 now
haha thats sweet, im from winnipeg and i love the cold at my school we hav an international program and its pretty funny seeing the different people freak out and say ts freezing when its like -15, there jaws drop when people tell them it gets to -40 with windchill sometimes
Lol that's awesome it doesn't even hit the ground. I love winnipeg weather. I love to freak foreigners out when I tell them that you are guaranteed atleast one -40 degree day every year :p Or the Ontarians with their "atleast it's a dry cold." Yeah ofcourse its dry when its so cold that water can no longer exist in a liquid or gaseous form.
I like to leave my car unplugged and see if I can start it :p
wow thats real cold not like here it would be mild as i mentioned above. 10 celcius in the day. still nippy but i get around with shorts on i hate lots of bulky clothes.
i wonder what would happen if you had a leek out there?
It was around -35C. Pretty normal for this time of year. Coincidentally, I just returned from a school trip with my 10 year old - we were playing hockey yesterday on a frozen lake for about an hour at -30C. Will have to post the video!
Hi Everybody. The reason Rob and I demonstrated the cold was because we (and most Winnipeggers) love to endure the cold weather. If anyone out there wants other demonstrations done (within reason) we'd be happy to oblige... Although today is t-shirt weather at only -11C.
I use to live in Winnipeg. Now I don't. I though I might miss it. I do not. I can't believe I use to live there. NOW I DO NOT!!!!! IT IS VERY COLD IN WINNIPEG IN THE WINTERR TIME. Summer is nice except for the mosquitos and the heat waves. I use to live there. Now I don't.
Because we're real Winnipeggers. And skin doesn't freeze until after 2 minutes - this only took a minute to shoot (and the cup was warm). Thanks for watching!
If you go outside for a minute or so you don't really feel the cold. It's when you're outside for awhile that the cold chills you to your bones. Last winter, the temperature dropped to 40 below here (-40 Celsius = -40 Fahrenheit). At that temperature, people only venture out if they have to.......
.....(she said with a little bit of pride in her voice-I think cold weather builds character).
It's bloody cold here in Winnipeg... Never attempted to chuck a cup of coffee into the air, though. It looks like it crystalized in mid-flight and just flew to the ground slowly like snow.
gotta say wpg is the coldest place ive been to .. awesome city thou

The colder the liquid, the less of it will crystallize. Works best with boiling water. Would work well this morning; it is -39C with the windchill...

Will it do the same thing if you have cold or room-temperature coffee? I'm curious to see...

Is it fake. Snow on the tree was white an not black... Cool though.
RajKamalKhare 1 year ago
@RajKamalKhare I think that was thrown in front of the tree. And if it crystallizes in the air, it wouldn't do anything to the snow.

Winnipeg= 2 much humidity, cold and snow. No offense, but you should head west, like Alberta or BC, where there's the warmest winters in Canada!
