@diggerdave51 It's a serrated clean up, gives a little more digging power than a straight edge.

While you have a point how do you expect him to get any good without having seat time? I know the way you suggest doesnt work from personal experience! The only way to learn is get on things and practise!

I think he means have them watch while you are doing it, explaining as you go, THEN let them try it out. If you just let them jump in and go they won't learn the proper techniques.

When i started i was on a Hitachi EX 350 doing ground work. my boss was working a D6R blade looking after 5x Volvo A30C trucks while an old Komatsu PC450LC was bulking. my boss came over to me and said "ure on the blade now" i had never been on one before, i sat in the seat he said this is back and forward and this is the blade movments and walked away. i had to look after them trucks for the rest of the day. That is how you lern my friend :) best working day of my life.

tru tru every one has to start some where. how else would he get the exp he needs? that is the problem knower days people want EXP but how do you get EXP if people dont let you jump on the machine...? i let people just on my stuff to lern its the best way.

great job jason! I agree you should have hoped in the machine,but I get where your comeing from. And water on one side hole on the other I wouldnt walk on that thing lol! And also whats with those buckets and alberta, talk to someone somewhere else and they havent heard/seen that kind,but yet every excavator with a q/c has one, including the 850!And also why didnt he just "mow down" the dam I guess you would them be digging blind! cant wait for the other ones and great job!
