@rosaleenauk The original version of Doom that was released in 1993 ran under MS-DOS. Later on, Microsoft developed a native Windows port named "Doom 95". The game itself is the same, it's just that one version runs under DOS, and the other only runs under Windows.

This video is titled "Doom 95 on vista" but it's an inaccurate title. It isn't the Doom 95 port that's being played - it's the original DOS version, running in a DOS emulator (DOSbox).

DosBox isn't complicated =D And it has it's own video capturing command. So your unregistered HyperCam wasn't even needed. But playing Doom on it is kind of fail. There are like 5 different upgraded Doom engines that allow you to play Doom with all new OS. Skulltag, ZDoom, Doomsday, etc. They also support OpenGL and D3D wich gives you better resolution,effects,options and and and.

I never played the pc version but wanted to. I remember playing Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom on playstation. Also when Doom 3 came out of xbox I bought that and that was awesome. I also liked how they had the ultimate and doom 2 games on Doom 3. Long Live ID SOFTWARE!

It didn't come out for "Microsoft 95". I don't mean to be an ass, but c'mon, it was an MS-DOS game to start out. Doom95 is a source port for Doom so it can run on Windows. I like DOSBox way better, though, because you can run vanilla (original, untouched) Doom! :D

hay just to let you know that this isn't doom 95.many think that doom 95 is doom dos,and why do they think its doom 95? because you can play doom dos on windows 95.but sins your on dosbox you are playing doom dos not doom 95. doom 95 is doom for windows 95 not dos but doom dos will work on 95.the doom your playing is the dos doom,also known as vanilla doom.

Wolfenstein 3D was the first FPS game that came out, then Doom came out after but it was still Knee Deep In The Dead shareware on floppy. So the full game didnt come out until 95, and on the first map of Knee deep, there are no rocket launchers, you get a shotgun if you play the harder level.

So much wrongness... Catacomb 3D predated Wolf 3D by a few months, and Doom came out in 1993, and Doom II in 1994. Now ULTIMATE Doom came out in 1995, but Ultimate Doom was just Doom 1 with an extra episode.

I found a problem while playing on the Doom95 on Vista. Whenever I point my weapon at a spectre, the spectre is rendered black instead of it's usual fuzz effect. Is there a way to fix this?

This is where you fail, doom is the best game ever made, the best game from 1993 living up still in 2008, so what if it's hard to buy now, if you have it, once you play through the game, life is a relief, stress is gone, you get all the stress pressure and whatever you think of out, this game is so good, blame life's problems on the monsters and take it out on them :)

hei , if u think doom button movement suck or u cant play multiplayer . Download skulltag. skulltag allow u freelook, change button, opengl and more. Just search at goggle and u will find it.
