  • the second time the "ecstasy" sample is triggered it should be a lower pitch. also the bass synth was a Juno and every 4 bars it should go dada-da--da-da. also it's missing the strings and choir sounds, but other than that, it's pretty good. what fun!!

  • nice job matey! :P

  • its 'wowo wo' not 'wo wo wo wo'. doh!!!!

  • you've got a quality setup there my friend

  • Can i play in your studio as i am curious about the rest of the floppy's you have there.

    great vid, thx

  • Real Oldskool :-)

  • how do you get everything in sync?

  • What is the synth that starts at 1:04?

  • Wow! This is like hardware porn!

  • Im familiar with Beltram, late90s i think.. Not 2 bad. but bass line has couple 16ths thrown in instead of 1st 8th every 8 or 16 bars right?? wuld have been easy rite?

    I know, picky huh?

  • I didn't hear the 303

  • @GBart correct, it's used to trigger the sh-09 which is playing the sound, but the sequence was programmed on the 303 as the sh-09 has no sequencer.

  • Hi hat is too plain. have to add more patterns to it. should tick or flicker.. listen to the orig tracks from those days. And that pattern actually comes from cutting records and some freestyle music.

  • @nesNYC haha, thanks for the critique, but it's not a carbon copy, just a 20 minute mess in the studio:)

  • nice one! totally entertaining ! thanks

  • Very good indeed!

  • Nice!

  • I'm glad he made this video because I've always wondered why people don't attempt Techno Covers like rock musicians attempt rock covers.

Techno just limits itself to the remix mostly, or edit these days...how about a compilation record of reknowned artists doing full gear covers of their favorite techno tracks?

    That might be fun

  • I totally agree, and its gotta be outa the "box"(computer). I've started my own project doing dub electronica covers of classic and obscure Motown and Soul, not really the same idea but its a great formula. I am cutting all the mixes live on my board with sends re-injected for that authentic on the fly dub feedback.

  • Nice vid!!! This makes me think of the very young joey beltram putting the classic together for the first time and realising he's onto something special. I bet he never knew just how special though.

  • TRRRRAANNNSMAT RECORORDS

  • Hi, got 1 question, can you trigger a TR-606 through a s1000 so you can control it??

  • No, the 606 relies only on sync. Though the 606 has 2 trigger outs, so you can trigger most other equipment with them, like gates/cv/hold and most other controls.

  • Hmm... but thanx.

  • and a roland sh09

  • god job :)

  • What you use for the sampling?

  • the akai s1000

  • GIVE ME THAT 303..LOL

  • Very well done - reeeal techno!

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it doesnt get any more electronic than this!

    great video

  • Man, You're makin me wanna set my gear up and make some beats like this!! Just hooked up everything after 6 years so I'm just freshly starting out again. The ownly downfall is I never did figure out how the f**k to use my S1100 so that is whats delaying me :-).

  • what is the little screen that shows the movement in sound?

    where can i get one?

  • Thats an oscilloscope, most electrical suppliers or ebay you can find various different ones. Thanks!

  • wow those are some old school machines you got man. Classic stuff!

  • Great stuff. Hate to be a stickler but I missed the double handclaps :-p

  • good god!

  • awesomw vid,top 5 stars! you have a great set up....

  • nice setup

but im sorry 2 say you dont sound like Beltram at all

  • That is an impressive setup you have there

  • Thats so cool. I want a 303! :(

  • Is that Mackie 1604 VLZ?

PS nice mix, excepting crash cymbales

  • class!!!, you must have some fun with this setup , post more when you can..

  • Clear and fresh sounding does it for me,enjoyed that thanks

  • [[[[RESPECT]]]]][[[[respect]]]]]]]

  • That was awesome. You got some great gear too.

    That beltram sample is classic.

  • I love your machines (i wish to have so much money to buy them!) but i was expected something more creative, more melody from a bass line and a drum rythm.

  • LOVE IT guys!!! Awesome!

Got to agree with you on the SH09 too. I use mine for basslines (sync'd to my system 700 sequencer) and mono lead solos and it is just so fat :-)

  • Love all of your vids so much I have subscribed.

Constructive crit- The main lead sound need some more crunch and less bounce. A minor point.

Overall, Excellent!!! As said, subscribed and waiting for the next vid.

Keep up the superb work!!!!!!! :]

  • thx for subscribing, this only took 25 minutes to setup the 909 and 303 (which triggers the sh09 for the lead line), and i recorded it for a laugh after finding the ecstasy sample, by no means a perfect mix:D

  • Well im pleased you did it as I love it. Is the 303 playing the bassline? I always though that would be more a job for the 101? Mind the bass sounds great so it may well be a 303 on the Beltram record.

  • Bass is programmed on the 303, but CV'd to the SH-09 which is what you hear, its 10 times better than the 303 for bass.

  • Ah I see.

  • Bass is programmed on the 303, but CV'd to the SH-09 which is what you hear, its 10 times better than the 303 for bass.

  • nice studio :)

  • I like a lot!

  • i love Analogick Techonologick!

    we love analog

  • Joey Beltram R&S records, nice one mate, sweet.

  • What a lovely setup of gear! I wish every producer would upload studio sessions of their music live in the studio.

  • Love the basement studio. Nice rok out.

  • Teisco S60f synth must be very rare by now.I used to have S110f(Same design as S60f but bigger).Looks really cool even now.You should post a demo of it sometime.Cool vid!.

  • reminds me a bit of Shades of Rhytm - Extasy :P

  • pendlecoven?? more like pendlecomeon, techno geeks, its a homage to mr beltram, not a carbon copy shit, camera work a bit like cloverfield, i wasn't scared though, just bouncin!!

  • Too much exxtasy and crashes.. SH-09 is nice! Nice Machine!

  • Are you doin the vocals?

  • your only jealous cos you didnt!! hehe

  • nice gear but not very entertaining output

  • nice name, but not very entertaining comment:)

  • dude, cool sequencing, but seriously....you're camera work makes me wanna puke. did you have it strapped to your head or something.

  • yeah, and i was jumping up and down at the same time, and i have to live up to the camerawork on the earlier vids.
