I LOVE Shante. The industry ran her off. She dissed all of the industry's money makers (slave rappers). None of em wanted to battle The R.O.X.A.N.N.E.

In hindsight, I can see why. All of those people she dissed actually helped to change the course of hip hop for the worst. I bought into it and supported the mainstreaming of hip hop too. Shante was really "keeping it real". I believe that all of the females in hip hop today should do something unified to pay respect to Shonte. She deserves it.

Shante wasn't feeling the ego's backstage and she had always felt snubbed by the sisterhood that was going on back then. She initally was going to perform "Brother's ain't shit" but switched it up last minute to feature Grandaddy IU who actually wrote "Big Mama".

Monie Love And Latifah Rap way better than Roxanne Shante. Monie love And Latifah Were real Lyricists. Shante always had good punchlines but her songs a whole were never as tight as Latifah And Monie. What other female rappers do you know that can flow "Latifah's had It Up To Here" Or Monie's "Mo' Monie" from her 2nd album. Shante was more succesful because of the "Roxanne History", Monie And Latifah were actually TALENTED, They Could flow through an entire song without cussing and its still hot
