Nice tribute to the old tracks. The new bike path is bustling with daily activity with bikers, runners, walkers, skaters, families and dogs. The Shining Sea Bike Way runs from Woods Hole to North Falmouth with route markers every 1/10 of a mile along the 10.5 mile route.
They are a few miles long. As of this week there is a company removing the rails. The railroad was put in in the 1800's - from Buzzard's Bay to Woods Hole. There was also a rail line where the rail trail is on the Cape. The rail line running through Sandwich is also part of that line. And of course there is the trash train.
What a sight! I love walkin abandoned rails!
