Thanks,of course you`re correct.Carlo was so very versatile it was amazing.Yes,he was responsible for the legendary bass on "I wonder why".Its interesting that they really didn`t use much bass, instead concentrating on those bari-tenor harmonies with Angelo`s high tenor floating above.
He had a heck of a range, didn't he? My Belmonts knowledge is limited, but didn't he do the bass line on "I Wonder Why"? If not I apologize. I just read it on a comment on that video.
@thebigfist Freddie was 2nd tenor. Carlo was the bass. But he could sing in the tenor range, as he is doing on this recording. Fred just passed away Jan. 1, 2012.
@DooWopFanatic You are right. Carlo was the bass. After he had his tonsils out his voice got higher. That was after "Tell Me Why". He could still sing bass, afterwards, though.
Thanks for putting this up! This was a "B" side. Can't remember what the "A" side was. It was also on their album "Carnival of Hits". I have a compilation album that came out several years ago that has an alternate version of this.
I was so saddened to hear of Freddy`s death.Apparently he had been recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Lung Cancer in 2011.R.I.P.,Freddy!
