Great video, just wish there was more recent footage to be found such as this. I served aboard her from '89-'90 in 1st Division. Miss shipmates from Deck & Nav Depts. What a shame the museum idea was scrapped! I would love to get aboard her again as this gentleman did.
thank you for the video! I knew as soon as you walked into the control room that you were in 4main (4mmr) And you guys are correct, everyone who stood the last watch signed the wall. You zoomed right in on my name and date. thanks for this memory. Brian Jarvis, USS Saratoga 92-94
I was part of Sara's decom crew I sure wish she was going to made into a museum instead of scrapped. I was in IM5 div CalLab for her last two cruises.
What a great video and thanks for posting. I was on CV-64 which is now out of service and its sad when you think about all the men and all the stories that could be told over the course of a ships life. Its kind of weird knowing when these ship are in service there is always people on board and then no one is onboard it just doesnt seem right.

I remember the old girl. Did the last cruise on her with VAW-125. I personally think she was better than the Enterprise, which we got right after her.
