First, they are mice, not rats. About as different as cats and dogs.

Second, leaving the mice to die slowly (the furthest from the camera is fatally injured) is inhumane.

Third, it is a criminal offence to treat animals inhumanely, even if they are pests. You can be prosecuted just for failing to check your traps regularly.

Last, the offence carries a maximum punishment of a custodial sentence.

I do hope you put them out of their misery. o_o

1st, they are RATS. not mice. they don't even look like mice.

their tails are really thick and long. that is only 12 of the multiple characteristics to helpr differentiate rats from mice. their bodies are also larger and more stout than any mouse I have ever seen.

2nd, they were put down immediately after this video was shot.

3rd, I check my traps twice daily. once in morning, and once in evening.

They have narrow muzzles and their limbs are in proportion for a mouse; a baby rat is larger and would have neonatal proportionality - larger head/limbs in relation to the body. This does not include the ears, which would be noticeably smaller in proportion to body size compared to a mouse.

I have bred both. ;)

These mice DO have triangular shaped heads with narrow snouts; rats would have a broader snout. I have bred both, and these ARE mice. ;)
