  • I love this car and I so want one. :)

  • Great job to Chevy on this Malibu Ad.... I don't care much for the Malibu, but commercials of this quality keep me motivated to graduate with my degree in Video Production. Forget Hollywood, I can't wait to start doing automotive commercials!

  • ugly front

  • このCMめっちゃカッコイイな

  • This commercial inspired my mom to buy me this car.... stupid awesome commercial. lol

  • love the song tooo. its great and so is the car

  • @biggulps I'm guessing your folks didn't bought you a car

  • That kid got hot.

  • I wish this care came to Chile

  • So cool the robot arms are like real parents? I wish my parents were robots =o

  • to the majority of idiots that post irrelevant comments on youtube: there is nothing more depressing in this world than your insipid and grammatically incorrect rants. you truly epitomize the the most ignorant (and presumably inbred) pieces of shit on earth. go find a hole. crawl in. stay there.

  • Notice how that girl didn't have to have a job to get that car. Mommy and Daddy bought it. lol

  • tear-jerker moment at the end there...

  • the girl is hott at the end thumbs up!

  • its kinda stupid how her hair changes froom blonde to black like she probably dyes it but its still stupid they shouldve just kept it blonde..

  • @aoife2222 its actually pretty common that your hair gradually gets darker as you get older

  • this is actually a great ad

  • i love this song but it just sounds out of place... doesn't really fit the commerical

  • I tottaly agree with your saying.

  • yes i totally agree with this... well i think the background music fits just not the lyrics.... love this song tho!!!!!

  • That prom date is really hot

  • whats the background song?

  • Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie

  • Hmm the song didnt suit the ad though...

  • is thi gana b aired tonite for the grammys?

  • GM will protect your children.

  • This was really very cute :)

  • sigh/

hate to see beautiful music like this get all commercialized in ads, but I guess it's inevitable.

The ad was strange, too. Seeing them grow up with their whole life in a machine-filled room felt empty and sad...

  • with you there...

  • dude no way i thought i was the only one who felt that way

  • Yeah, the song doesn't quite match the feel of the comercial...but I think you missed the point of the ad.

  • You read too much into commercials.

  • opel is in the GM line so its kind of like saying the silverado looks like a gmc sierra

  • Yeah, but Opel is not American, their German.

    - Greetings from Germany

  • isn't this car just an american version of Opel Vectra?

    Regards.

  • opel and chevy are in the GM line

  • @jjaquu dont forget dihatsu 0_0

  • @gwnerd90 GM owns Opel dumbass.

  • WOW you're stupid. Opel is GM and has been since 1929. GM didn't "steal" anything from Opel. Since GM owns Opel, they're free to do whatever they want with it. In the end, it's the same company. GM can't steal from itself. Now STFU, go crawl in a hole and die.

  • @Z34teen how about this? ur mum is stupid :)

  • @gwnerd90 My mom is dead. Has been for 2 years. How do you feel now prick? Leave her out of this because you have NO idea what I've been through because of that.

  • @Z34teen sorry to read that ...... hope she is resting in better place

  • @Z34teen If you didn't go around telling people on the net to crawl into holes and die, I'd feel sorry for you.

  • that was not the song in the original commercial!!!! im adamant about that! unless i have a really bad memory XD

  • Oren Lavie ...doesnt drive XDXDXDXD

  • thats a trippy comercial

  • malibu!

  • i guss these people r trying to say that chevy made way better song than camerccial

  • i think that joseph kosinski (the director of the comm) is a great artist. he has a lot of depth in the videos hes made and he really worth a google.

  • Awaking the giant!

  • 0:24 my friend jordan =]

  • Australian Desgin car's holden are better an they dont look like A STEEL CAN ON 4 WHEEL'S the desgin car's

  • love the song....... forget about the cars. fools

  • can we talk about how great this song is for a minute?

  • what a great ad!!!!! to sell a car based on a daddy's love for his daughter to be safe!!!! i do not drive a chevy, but this is a good one, love Oren Lavie's song too!!!

  • GM should show commericals like this instead of trying to compete the Mailbu with the Camry & Accord.

  • they built the malibu to compete with the camry and accord

  • which makes the Malibu adverage and nothing more.

  • exactly, an average car for the average person, just like the camry and accord

  • no the Camry & Accorrd will be known as legends on top selling & great looking cars that owners love. The Malibu will be known as the car that tries to be like both.

  • no, camry and accord will be like the average car everyone drove drove, boring styling, boring to drive, and the owners are to retarded to know how to love

and the malibu will be the car that people will know will be the only mid size car(besides ford fusion) that a company actually put any thought of making it look and drive good and actually be good

the camry and accord overrated pieces of shit

soon, the malibu and fusion, and maybe the sebring will be the best sellers

  • I give Ford alot of credit and just hope the future of Fusion & the rest of Ford works out. The Camry & Accord have been around for a while now They sold really great in the 80's, 90's & today, they represent Toyota & Honda. Chevy is just using Malibu to build its name due to trucks arent as popular as cars.

  • exactly, building a name, just as ford is doing with the fusion, and plus truck sales are going to end up picking up, will they be the same as before, probably not, but they'll still be better than now

the new ford fusion and chevy malibu are both a hell of alot better than the camry and accord

  • One of the best GM commercials I've ever seen. Good job Ad department!!!!

  • The original video of the song was amazing but this commercial gave it a run for it's money. Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!

  • I'm a guy and I drive this.. :[

  • Cyute baby!!

  • this is a good ad, but the ending is disturbing. i mean, shes driving into the bright, white light from a dark tunnel? what does this signify? is it her going to heaven after dying in a car crash? even her parents are dressed up, as if it were a funeral. just something to think about.

  • I agree it is very arty and why negative to this comment..that is what art is. Has anyone read the lyrics to this poem..it is dusturbing and poetic as well!

    Still Beautiful and Strange

  • as an english major and film student, im trained to (and love it) read films using a semiotical analysis. yeah, its a strange song choice.

  • haha yeah.

i don't think that is what they were going for.

good observation. . . but i think it is a no.

  • heh nice alternate ending :P

    :D

  • Hey mate this isn't a philosophy debate.

  • im not debating. if you dont like it, dont read it. but analysis is what i do. its what i study. other people out there like alternate interpreations and like to think. and your comment only reflects poorly on you because youre the one suggesting i dont offer some intellectual input, which youtube is obvious lacking. youtube is bleeding stupidity, and i am just offering another viewpoint which has received favorable comments and responses. so im afraid you are alone in your thoughts, my friend

  • 5 thumbs down ha ha favourable, hes not alone

  • Analysis is what you do. LOL, my friend look around you. We are all pundits.

  • um...look around YOU. Myspace, Celeb obesssion, kids on youtube who think "dat talkin lyk dis iz da propa wai"....movies like American Pie, etc. Nobody thinks anymore. nobody uses their fucking heads. very few people are actually intelligent or interesting. so...most people are just superficial and dont look at the subtext or the big picture. they dont care. so id say very few of us actually read into things

  • LOL, which world do you live in? Humans are born with a curious side. They analyze everything. That is humans evolve. Look I understand you think you are a smart guy. But if you were you would be something boss or something big. In this economic downturn the gov't went to warren buffet for advice. Mr. Buffet earned his respect he didn't have to argue with ppl to make them understand he is intelligent. Quite frankly he doesn't care about ppl's critic. If you are smart prove it.

  • what sepeates the Fusion from the Malibu is the Fusion is a new name and Malibu has been around for a while.

  • I love the song, but I don't really think it fits very well with the ad. And, while I was watching I felt nice and kind of calm and the the narration burst my bubble of serenity. They shouldn't have put that in there. The should've put text, saying 'Safety should last forever' And then there logo and brand.

  • Who is the girl at the end she is too beautiful!!!

  • If you go back to the first comments, She has written there. My two girls are on the video and she was adorable and played with them. She is a doll and kinda person.

Lisa Marie, the girls send you a big kiss!!!!

  • This girl is unbearably gorgeous and yes the narration at the end is totally jarring and unnecessary. Should have done it with text.

  • they really didn't need 2 say anything at the end...and they should've used a different song...

  • go digital domain.

  • what was awesome! i loved it!

  • This ad would be a lot more effective if that bit of narration at the end wasn't there.

  • Yeah this definitely didn't need any spoken words. They should have shown their logo and slogan and faded out.

  • doesnt match!

  • this song dosn't go with this add!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Please buy American! Together we can do anything. Great ad. Please watch my video(hd) about our great country. I hope you like it. Thanks.

  • That was a really cool ad, and the song was awesome too. BUY AMERICAN! The state of Michigan, Ohio, and thousand of businesses depend on it. Plus, there are some really great green American cars.

  • I love that song, but I hate this ad!

Grr... just like the Beatles have become an advertising gimmick, how many people will know this song just because of this ad?

    *ends rant*

  • What a creepy family. They live in a car assembly line...

  • Comment removed

  • Hahaha wtf!? haha nice

  • im subing to ur videos just for that my friend

  • Wow thank you. I'll be honest with you though, I don't upload much videos, in fact I've only got one video, which I put on back in 2007. But in the rare case that I DO upload another video, you'll know about it. Thanks again.

  • ooh her morning elegance!

  • I didn't see the car, I was too much distracted by the song !

  • No they're not

The robots are made in Germany by Kuka Robotics. Kuka supplies robots to many big american manufacturers including Harley Davidson, Boeing, Ford and Coke

  • No they're not.

They are made in on a computer by an animator.

    WALL-EEEEEEEE

  • lol so true. no matter how you make em look like in commercials, american cars will always suck ass. the malibu actually is one of the few exceptions

  • este si es un comercial no como los de v w

  • wow... i love this commercial. i am so ready to buy one.

  • this is an excellent commercial

  • great commercial for a great car. I like GM's new advertising strategy.

  • Does anyone know the song of a chevy Malibu that's been played during the olympic commercial break. It's a rock song, just cant find the tune. Me and my babe we're in love of that song. please write me if you know the title.

    thanks

  • Sea Wolf--You're A Wolf

  • yes! its called "You're a Wolf" by Sea Wolf. I i finally found it right now so I thought I would share it with u

  • there is another malibu commercial where in the end they show the car in the woods and say its the most affordiable mid size hybrid or whatever but the song that plays during the ad is like "im walking down the street or something? i dont know, does anyone know what the hell im talking about?

  • Apparently, it's You're a Wolf by Sea Wolf

  • If you like this song, do a youtube search "Her morning elegance By Oren Lavie" posted by purplecowsdofly. She draws a picture while the full song plays. Really good! Check it out.

  • Oh my god she's matt goos girlfriend?

    Cool.

  • whatever the American listeners need to do to get this young man's music on this side of the world, needs to be done.

  • you can get it online.

  • YES, I know you can get it online. I meant him having a U.S. presence with concerts and television appearances; and being able to purchase his music in local record stores. His music is only available online here in the U.S., but in stores in Europe.

  • this song is so peaceful. :)

  • oh my i love this song so much.lovely heavenly voice.

  • the girl in the car is lisa, matt goods girlfriend. matt good is the lead singer for from first to last.

  • Who is the girl in the car.

  • great song - I love you tube for this. Thanks chevy or whomever for posting this - some commercials have the best songs.

  • its matt goods girlfriend!

  • Oh my god! Thanks for confirming that for me!

I was watching tv and this commercial came on and I was like "...is that who I think it is?"

  • hey the girl on the skate board is my teachers daughter she is a really cool girl good job jordan!!

  • the girls shoes are so cool.

  • Finally!

I've been wondering what this song was.

Every time I saw this commercial I'd freak out. xDD

  • me 2 and i finally found out what it was!!! woo hoo

  • great commercial.. very sweet

  • I love this commerical. And this song....

  • i cant download this song

  • heaven forbid buying some music for a change

  • Damn right.

  • the girl is really hot. i asked her if she was in high school at the shooting and she was like..."im 25"

    i had no comment

  • Did you shoot this video or something how were u there

  • Yeah, next you're gonna ask "What car is it?"... idiots

  • you retards asking what the name of the song is are pissing me off. It says in the fucking title of the video. "Chevy Mailbu TV ad ('Her Morning Elegance' by Oren Lavie)"

  • The song is: Her morning Elegance by Oren Lavie

  • so0o0o0o0o0o hot

  • Her Morning Elegance By Oren Lavie

  • I know the girl in the commerical! She is a cousin of a cousin. She's from a small town in Louisiana and now she's a model in LA.

    :)

  • that makes her your 2nd cousin, no?

  • no a 2nd cousin is the child of your cousin

  • that girl in the car is pretty.

  • whts tht song?

  • Lol, I grew up with her!

  • what's the model's name?

  • this is the most well done commercial I've seen in a very long time. there's so much meaning, symbolism and it's incredibly well thought out. props to the ad company who thought this up.

Did you notice how the commercial starts and ends with the girl getting keys from the robots? Who'da thunk you could put foreshadowing in a car commercial?

  • that chick at the end is H-O-T

  • i wanna know who she is

  • I don't know why...But I love this commecial...&+The girls hair is awesome!

  • i cried durring this comercial. :)

  • Me too'v'

  • JEEEZ US

  • Jeeeeez, are you people retarded?

  • Fuck you!!

  • wow. that prom guy is really hot

  • love love loved the albums got it from itunes

liked the commercial but the music makes the magic happen

  • Sorry to keep this discussion going, quitifa, but I'm still confused.

This is an interesting video - I chose to parallel life as an assembly line in the commercial to life as an assembly line in Brave New World. Yes, it may be a "high school" argument, but it's still an accurate observation, wouldn't you agree?

I just don't know why you're so critical of my opinion, and I'm really not sure how the Garfield reference ties in...

  • the garfield metaphor means you guys are thinking too much, I mean it is nice that you guys are thinking critically, but what I think chevy is conveying here is that chevy is always here as your family (in this case the girl)grows. Wven though they only sell cars, they want have public relations, you know a "company that cares" sorta thing.

before you guys flame, i just wanted to share my 2 cents, besides.. saying someone is stupid because he misspelled a word is ridiculous...

  • holy shit, didn't meant to post twice.. it lagged.. and i doubled clicked... sorry guys

  • ...I'm not even that intelligent to begin with. See? - I misspelled "tout" in my last comment.

  • Comparing this to Orwell or what have you, is like saying that you read a Garfield comic strip and now you support Animal Rights because cats have feelings...

Think critically always, speak critically when appropriate.

  • To everyone that's making this out to be a societal statement,

If you read any books past high school you could make smarter comments. I mean- Brave New World, 1984? Why didn't someone quote Fahrenheit 451 or Great Gatsby, too? Does everyone stop there?

It's a commercial, it's entertainment. Stop using YouTube to act intellectual and go out and change policy or volunteer instead of calling Chevy Big Brother.

"OMG did you see the new iPhone commercials? That's just like Dante's Inferno!"

  • Woah there, quitifa. I didn't realize I was using youtube to "act intellectual." I was just making a comparison. Sorry, I didn't mean to insult your "entertainment."

I was always taught to think critically and question what I see (and to respect the opinions of others). Obviously, you weren't. I'm not trying to taut my education, I'm just observing. My apologies for offending you.

  • ...actually I suppose it's more like the opening passages in Brave New World...

  • Does anyone else believe that chronicling a human life in reference to an assembly line is a bit dehumanizing and "Orwellian?"

    Just a thought...

  • Yes, this commercial is creative, however it still makes me sick. Yeah, just raise your kid from birth to expect a car when she graduates. Americans need to realize that driving a car around like there's no tomorrow isn't a god given right. Walk, ride a bike, take the bus or train. Learn to get where you need to go without burning up fossil fuels.

  • ceeeeejay, if you notice she knows how to walk and they show her riding a bike.

i knew someone would totally misinterpret this.

shes not "expecting" a car for graduation.

she grows up and it shows the different ways shes gotten around, then when she's obviously out of high school and in the world she upgrades to a car.

    crawl>walk>training wheels>bike>hardcore boots>car

    get it?

  • *sit> walk> training wheels> bike> skateboard> harcore boots> car.

  • **sit>crawl> walk> training wheels> bike> skateboard> harcore boots> car.

    i kept messing up.
