this is the most well done commercial I've seen in a very long time. there's so much meaning, symbolism and it's incredibly well thought out. props to the ad company who thought this up.
Did you notice how the commercial starts and ends with the girl getting keys from the robots? Who'da thunk you could put foreshadowing in a car commercial?

Sorry to keep this discussion going, quitifa, but I'm still confused.
This is an interesting video - I chose to parallel life as an assembly line in the commercial to life as an assembly line in Brave New World. Yes, it may be a "high school" argument, but it's still an accurate observation, wouldn't you agree?
I just don't know why you're so critical of my opinion, and I'm really not sure how the Garfield reference ties in...

the garfield metaphor means you guys are thinking too much, I mean it is nice that you guys are thinking critically, but what I think chevy is conveying here is that chevy is always here as your family (in this case the girl)grows. Wven though they only sell cars, they want have public relations, you know a "company that cares" sorta thing.
before you guys flame, i just wanted to share my 2 cents, besides.. saying someone is stupid because he misspelled a word is ridiculous...

If you read any books past high school you could make smarter comments. I mean- Brave New World, 1984? Why didn't someone quote Fahrenheit 451 or Great Gatsby, too? Does everyone stop there?
It's a commercial, it's entertainment. Stop using YouTube to act intellectual and go out and change policy or volunteer instead of calling Chevy Big Brother.

Yes, this commercial is creative, however it still makes me sick. Yeah, just raise your kid from birth to expect a car when she graduates. Americans need to realize that driving a car around like there's no tomorrow isn't a god given right. Walk, ride a bike, take the bus or train. Learn to get where you need to go without burning up fossil fuels.

i knew someone would totally misinterpret this.
shes not "expecting" a car for graduation.
she grows up and it shows the different ways shes gotten around, then when she's obviously out of high school and in the world she upgrades to a car.
