@FusionFierce000 - Hi, you raised a good question. The color code was developed by the USGS to inform aviation and the general public the level of danger an active volcano is posing against overall safety. Green means the volcano is dormant. Yellow means the volcano is exhibiting signs of unrest. Orange, eruption is eminent or the volcano is in eruption, but pose no danger to aviation. Red, the volcano is erupting. More information can be found at the USGS Hazards website.

when erthquakes happen around volcanos they erupt 3 days later!! is that true??

This is good question and thank you for asking.

Earthquakes around a volcano can mean that magma is on the move. When magma rises, it pushes away older rock and this triggers an earthquake. But, earthquakes is not the only indicator for a volcanic eruption. Sometimes, volcanoes have earthquake swarms, which is sign of magma moving, but it does not erupt and then the mountain goes silent again.

Best clues for an eruption is earthquakes, bulging and volcanic gases.

Will the mountain erupt again? Sure! Will it happen in the next 15 years? Based on her previous history, I say the chances are fairly good. However, MSH only does a major eruption every 150 to 200 years, so the next event will probably be like 2004-2008.

Thanks for asking. Congressman Brian Baird put together an advisory group last year to make recommendations on Mount St Helens future. Unfortunately, the group is recommending to retain MSH with the National Forest and not designate MSH as a national park.

The key problem with the National Forest is the cost of fighting forest fires. Each year this cost is taking on more and more of the forest budget. I did not hear though if MSH has benefited from the stimulas package.

I live in Australia, but I can still remember when this happened in 1980, I was 5, I saw it in a Nat. Geo magazine, Still have it too. I think it's disgusting that this beautiful place wasn't made a national park years ago. Maybe I should send some of the "Greenies" we have here up to you. They'd soon fix the problem.  :-) Keep up the great work. I love your videos. This place has fascinated me for years.

I am glad you liked the music. The is called Malaguena Salerosa from Chingon. It was used for the closing credits for Kill Bill Volume 2. Initially, when I started working on this project, I had evisioned of modeling the video based on the closing credits for the movie. I am glad you had enjoyed it.
