In my state, when a BC is asked for, it must have the raised seal, and it has to be shown at that time, not TWO YEARS LATER!...Also, why isn't HI allowing for the births to be shown for Aug 1961. That said, they do link to the alleged NSIS memo, which at first glance does appear to be genuine, and does indeed refer to “the birthplace of President Barack Obama.” So, at least some people high up in Kenya do apparently consider him as having been born there.

The reason you can see the seal when holding the document in your hand is because you can tilt it until the light source is coming from a specific angle range, to hilight where the paper bends towards the light, and darken (casting small shadows) where the paper bends away from the light. If you know 3D computer animation, look up Gouraud or Phong shading algorithms and the concept of “face normals.”

Maybe the document WAS faked, but if it was, it was faked BEFORE it was scanned. That could not be determined by any analysis of the scan, unless the forgery was incompetent.

It’s just so faint (due to the nature, BY DESIGN, of flatbed scanners — they’re design to MINIMIZE THE EFFECTS of paper fiber distortions such as folds, wrinkles, etc. — and, unfortunately, embossed seals as well [the scanner cannot tell any difference between an embossing and a wrinkle]) that you cannot easily see it unless you know how to look for it. Hint: you need to use special filters in, say, Photoshop.

• #1, The actual ORIGINAL does NOT have a seal. The seal is for COPIES, to certify that they are in fact CERTIFIED COPIES OF the original.
• #2, The seal IS present in the .PDF. You just can’t easily see it, because of the nature of embossed seals combined with the nature of FLATBED scanners. Embossing puts no ink nor other coloration into the paper, and the scanner only measures the COLORS that it sees per pixel.

Whoever scanned it, like the vast majority of the readers of these threads and even most of the “computer graphics experts” who have essentially thrown away their careers mouthing off on something they know nothing about, had no idea that Adobe Acrobat Pro (the preferred program for making .PDF files) would do all of that to a document scanned DIRECTLY into it with pretty much the DEFAULT settings!

The only one who MIGHT know would be the clerk who actually stamped it, and even if said clerk was still alive, what would be the odds that s/he would remember exactly how s/he had rolled which stamp on a birth certificate that at the time wasn’t especially memorable over any of the thousands of others they’d deal with every year?

The “layers” are from Adobe Acrobat Pro’s “Optimize Scanned PDF” command (try it yourself on any document of your choice). Ditto the white halos.
The “kerning” is mechanical “slop” common in hammer-type typewriters of the day.
Most of the second line was indeed typed separately, but there are viable reasons a clerk might do that.
@TheMongoose131, I say “air bubble” to save space (500 character limit here), but it could be anything that would cause a random gap in the ink (e.g. dust speck). We see them ALL OVER the Obama stamp. Only in the “H” of “THE” does it just happen to be both big enough and in the right spot to cause it to look like an “X” to people who don’t understand the basics of fonts, and considering how many letters are in that stamp (98 in 4 lines), that’s well within the probability of random chance.
@TheMongoose131, Agreed about the right side of the other stamp almost certainly being overinking. I’m saying that the left middle area of the Obama stamp shows a much lesser degree of overinking, but still overinking.
On the comparison stamp, notice how it’s bad enough that if you didn’t already know what it said, I doubt that you could be sure. The words “FILE IN” look almost like “FIL2 M”! This shows that inking issues can indeed cause letters in a stamp to look like other characters.

We’ve only seen a handful of birth certificates from that place and time (Obama, the Nordyke twins, the one in the animated .GIF, and the one with the Copperplate Condensed-like font in this video that was obviously made with a different stamp). That’s hardly a large enough sample size to be making any sort of conclusions.
And besides, an air bubble wouldn’t repeat. We see several of those elsewhere in the Obama stamp. Is one more really so hard to accept?
@TheMongoose131, The ”TXE” sticks out so much only because of the positioning of the bubble or flaw. If it were even ½ of the width of the bubble in any direction, it either wouldn’t cut all the way through the stroke and into the crossbar (like the “TH” in “THIS”), or else would be above or below the crossbar and so not cause it to appear like a weird serif-font “X.” In either case, it wouldn’t cause the letter to appear like another letter, which is the only reason this is so noticeable.
@TheMongoose131, (cont.) And finally, the matter of the SERIFS. Do you know what “serifs” are? There aren’t any in the text that you’re reading right now, because YouTube uses Arial, a SANS-SERIF (meaning “no serifs” or “without serifs”) FONT!
Well, SO DOES THIS STAMP! A SANS-serif font NEVER has serifs (with the POSSIBLE, RARE exception of the capital “i” to distinguish it from the lower-case “L” — but NEVER, •EVER• does JUST the UPPER-CASE “X” in •ANY• 1960s sans-serif font have serifs)!
@TheMongoose131, (cont.) See also the “T” just to the left of the “H” in “THIS.” Look near the bottom of its vertical stroke, along its left edge. Another little “notch.” Those are air bubbles in the ink that gets picked up by the rubber stamp when it’s pressed against the ink pad.
Now look at the “THE” again: what you see in the “H” is a similar air bubble, but this time cutting through the entire left vertical stroke, right where it joins the horizontal crossbar stroke.
@TheMongoose131, Look again. Look at the RIGHT side of the known genuine one. See how smeared, almost beyond recognition, those letters are? Now look at the left side of the SECOND LINE of the Obama one, especially the parts I indicated below. They’re nowhere near THAT smeared, but they are smeared (or overinked, actually).
Now look at the “H” of “THIS” in the FIRST line of Obama’s. Notice the two “notches” on left edges of the top ½s of both vertical strokes, just above the crossbar?

The font used in the stamp is very similar to the font you see on your screen (the stamp font seems to be Univers, and YouTube uses Arial, and both are stylized versions of Helvetica, the most popular sans-serif font). An “X” on the stamp would look about like an “X” here: simply two diagonal lines, intersecting near (but not exactly at — slightly above) their centers. NO SERIFS! It’s a SANS-SERIF FONT!!
Yet the purported “X” has SERIFS and is WILDLY DIFFEREENT!
Here is an animated .GIF cross-fading between the stamp on Obama’s birth certificate vs. that of another person, known to be genuine, and made with the SAME STAMP. Notice how the smearing is on the right side, and the “THE” is obviously “THE,” yet font, spacing, etc. match:

That’s an ILLUSION caused by a wearing and/or mis-inking of that portion of the stamp centered on the “H” of “THE” (as I pointed out before). You can see similar distortions in the top bars of the “H” The central part of both sides (especially the left side) of the “H” are worn or (e.g. due to an ink “bubble”) otherwise missing, but most of the cross-bar remains. This makes it somewhat resemble an “X” of a WILDLY DIFFERENT FONT!
It is fundamentally impossible for anything in a digital image to be “between pixels.” You cannot have ½ a pixel. But, when scanning, parts of letters will extend only partially into a pixel. Those pixels, when scanned, will be of a color that is not fully black, but a mix of black and the underlying paper color (white and green in this case). This is the “anti-aliasing” effect. For instance, if a serif covers ¾ of a pixel’s square, that pixel will be 75% black.
Because nothing can actually be between pixels, but gray levels can give that appearance, once those gray levels are removed, the objects (letters or strokes thereof) can appear to “shift” up to ½ a pixel. If two adjacent letters “shift” in opposite directions (e.g. the “a” shifting to the right and the “p” shifting to the left at 05:00 — note the slightly larger-than-expected gap between the “K” and “a,” and the “p” and “r”), that could produce such an effect.
If you have Windows XP or later, or a recent Mac OS X, you can demonstrate this effect for yourself by simply turning on and off “Font Smoothing” (Windows XP, use “ClearType” method if you have an LCD monitor) while lots of text is displayed (e.g. with a Web page visible). With smoothing off, the letters not only appear pixelated and “jaggy,” but the smaller text letters appear to be spaced unevenly: some too close together, others too far apart.
In addition to pixel-grid alignment, another potential contributor to the “kerning” effect is that typewriters of the 1960s could indeed shift the characters slightly, though not intentionally. Typewriters back then were nearly all hammer-based. Pressing a key forced a hammer with that character on it to fly up and strike the ink ribbon in front of the paper, which pressed ink onto the paper in the shape of the character.
As it flew up, the hammer, being top-heavy, tended to wobble a bit. To keep it in position, there was a metal guide, shaped somewhat like this: “/ \”, in front of the ribbon. But there was a little “slack” in the guide (if the gap were too tight, exactly the same width as the hammer bar, it would “catch” the hammer and prevent it from falling back down, causing incessant jamming). This slack means that the letters were not always exactly in the correct position.
If you think about it, you’ll see that the velocity of the hammers would tend to cause them to shift in the direction of the hammer-top’s “flight,” which was in the opposite direction of where they came from, which was basically where their keys were on the keyboard.
Characters from the left side of the keyboard would thus tend to shift to the right, while those from the right side would tend to shift to the left.
“Monumental Problem” #5: Kerning. Again, this is a result of the optimization done by Adobe Acrobat Pro6s “Optimize Scanned PDF” function. It converts the grayscale pixels of scanned text into solid black pixels, and in so doing, it undoes the natural “anti-aliasing” that scanning normally produces.
All digital raster images are made up of pixels arrayed in a pixel grid. The letters on the paper do NOT line up exactly with the pixel grid of the scanner, nor of the final optimized document.
Why should you believe me over those named experts? Simple: you shouldn’t. In fact, I INSIST that you DON’T take my word for this.

Then, scan ANY preprinted, filled-out form DIRECTLY into Acrobat, save the .PDF, and open it in Illustrator. BEHOLD!!
• 1. Someone scanned the certified copy of the birth certificate (Xeroxed or scanned-and-printed onto green-patterned security paper, that was then stamped and embossed-sealed) directly into Adobe Acrobat Pro. This is quite simply the logical thing to do when your goal is to turn a scanned document into a .PDF file for the Web. The DEFAULT settings, other than turning OCR off (one checkbox), would produce EXACTLY the sort of things we see here.
• 2. Someone scanned the certified copy into some other software, then imported or opened that into Adobe Acrobat Pro. That in and of itself would NOT produce those effects, but if the Acrobat user saw the “Optimize Scanned PDF” command, and thought, “Well, this is indeed scanned, and ‘Optimizing’ sounds like a good thing to do, so why not?” and executed that command with all of its DEFAULT settings, then again, it would indeed produce ALL of those effects.
• 3. An UNIMAGINABLY STEEYUPID forger (we’re talking making Homer J. Simpson and Peter Griffin look like Stephen Hawking in comparison here!) made all of those incredibly stupid layers that make absolutely no even remotely rational sense (why would only PARTS of words appear in different layers? Why would the date layer include JUST THE HYPHEN in the date above it? Why would parts of words separate out but only where a stroke of a signature below them crosses into them?
Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 and up have an “Optimize Scanned PDF” command (most versions have it under “Document” menu), PLUS, it will AUTOMATICALLY invoke this function if any document is scanned DIRECTLY into Acrobat Pro (as opposed to importing a previously scanned image file), WITHOUT the user having to specifically invoke the command!
This function does ALL of that layer stuff. And the white halos, too. Those “experts” are WRONG, and apparently unfamiliar with this.
As it turns out, Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 and up include not only the ability to scan directly into Acrobat .PDF, but also the ability to process an imported scanned image (e.g. a TIFF) as if it had been scanned directly into Acrobat. Note that this is •NOT• OCR (Optical Character Recognition)! Nor is it the typical Acrobat optimization process (resampling scanned images, etc.). It’s a SPECIAL function for SCANNED documents ONLY!
“Monumental Problem” #4: the layers. Now, I know most of you won’t believe this from just me saying so, so I beg you to TRY IT YOURSELF!
The .PDF file format was invented by Adobe for a series of programs called “Adobe Acrobat ___” where “___” was an “edition” of the program. Adobe Acrobat Reader, for instance, could read PDFs, but not create them. Adobe Acrobat Professional could create them. Adobe Capture was for scanning, and was later included in Adobe Acrobat Professional (as of v6).
“Monumental Problem” #3: “half-typed, half-handwritten.” That may actually be something, but it could also easily be that she was considering the signatures as handwriting. They do take up a substantial portion of the document, by area. Not half, but then again, I doubt that she was speaking precisely.
This one would be easily verifiable, one way or the other — someone needs to ask her, specifically, what she meant by “half-handwritten.”
“Monumental Problem” #2: the lack of “raised” seal. Same as before? No. The seal was indeed there in the 2008 CertificaTION of Live Birth, IN THE ORIGINAL UPLOADED VERSION on FactCheck-dot-org! It just wasn’t easy to see! But it clearly shows up if run through an edge enhancement filter.
You must understand how both embossed (not “raised”) seals and FLATBED scanners work. Flatbed scanners MINIMIZE paper-fiber disturbances such as folds, wrinkles, and EMBOSSED SEALS — BY DESIGN!
“Monumental Problem #1”: The “TXE” in the stamp. A TYPO? REALLY? Look at your keyboard. Where is the [H] key? Now where is the [X] key? They’re nowhere NEAR each other! Not horizontally (which row of keys), and not vertically! “TGE” might be a viable typo for a one-finger “typist.” “TJE” might be a viable typo for a touch-typist (two-handed). But there is NO conceivable typo scenario that would accidentally produce “TXE” — not on a Sholes QWERTY keyboard layout, anyway.
M.P. #1 cont. — Freeze-frame anywhere from about 00:50 to about 01:10, where you see the stamp on Obama’s B.C. Look at the letters JUST TO THE LEFT of the purported “X” — in particular, the “ACT” of “ABSTRACT” through the purported “X” — ESPECIALLY the ENTIRE word “OF” as well as the “T” of the purported “TXE.”
They’re all thicker strokes than those of the surrounding letters — typical of a badly inked and/or worn stamp, and possibly something in that part of the paper (e.g. grease spot).
The birth certificate stamps you compare show the Obama document to be forged. There is no white outline on the real example. If you do a screen shot of both & compare the two examples side by side, you should note other differences: it is clearly not the same stamp on the signature, the "M" in the last type written line on Obama's document is not the same font, more like an inverted "W", the real example shows a rocking motion in application, this is the characteristics of a real stamp.
@courag1, the white outline is present THROUGHOUT the Obama Birth Certificate, and is an artifcact of the optimization process. Every dark mark has the white outline, even the lines and boxes of the form itself.
The “M” IS NOT an inverted “W.” As with the Arial font used in these Text Comments, the outer strokes of the “M” are straight-up vertical and parallel to each other, while those of the “W” are angled (like two “V”s joined together at the vertex).
@COMALiteJ I have made many rubber stamps and am an expert at critiquing them. This is a simulated stamp, not the real deal. The white outline is consistent throughout not typical of scans whatsoever, there should be but isn't, jpeg chromatic splitting, but isn't. It has to be assembled in Illustrator as you can't have items of different dpi in Photoshop. FYI, Futura font family uses "M"s which are like inverted "W"s. So the font is not the correct match. It isn't the only font which uses this.
@courag1, The white outline has NOTHING TO DO with the stamp. It’s ALL OVER the image, on EVERY SINGLE DARK MARK of ANY KIND (pre-printed form text, pre-printed form lines and boxes, typewritten text, hand-written signatures, stamped dates, AND the stamp in question). It’s a DIRECT result of the “Optimize Scanned PDF” command that I insist that everyone here TRY FOR THEMSELVES. Until you’ve done this simple, few-minute process, you’re just not intellectually qualified to debate me on that point.
@courag1, On the matter of fonts, yes, the one shown at 01:16 does indeed have a different font (and not just because of the “M”). It doesn’t look like Futura, though. Futura has the ends of the stroke of the “C” chopped off vertically, as if it were an “O” that someone sliced the right side off of. The “C” here isn’t like that. Look also at the “Ts”. They appear to have tiny serifs on the cross-stroke, as do the “Cs” and other letters for that matter.
It’s hard to tell from a low-res image on a blurry lossily-compressed YouTube video, though. I’d love to see a higher resolution image of that stamp.
That said, the answer should be obvious: they’re two different stamps! Offices often keep spares of important stamps handy. They may even have some made months or years later than the originals. Likely, they commissioned a stamp-maker to make a new one, and told him what it should say and how big, but not which font to use.
@courag1, This also explains the obvious wearing of the second line of text (resulting in the suspicious-looking “TXE” appearance that I demonstrated is NOT a typo) of the Obama stamp, which is NOT present in the other stamp, which is just what one would expect if there had been a replacement stamp made. Yes, it was a month earlier, but both stamps could easily have been in use during that period, and the Registrar just grabbed whichever one was handy at the time.
@COMALiteJ First of all, many customers type their own rubber stamps, but the proof goes back to the customer, they proof it when they pick it up. It is also spell checked by computer which as this was generated by computer with the wrong font to match what the other stamp was, even if it had existed in 1961. The standard for the government is to order one, make sure it is right. Then several are ordered. One die is made, so all stamps are official as they are identical.

@COMALiteJ Even with computerization, this is not a stamp that was made. It was computer generated, the whole thing. The signature is not the same. It was a rush job, everyone expects the computer to fix everything, they didn't proof it correctly. They flubbed. When this goes to court, they will examine all the rubber stamps in the book. So they really have their tampering cut out for them. Hawaii is going to allow all that? Each impression will be slightly different, but no X.

I think the paperwork is not very relevant because if a certificate of birth exists on file in Hawaii it would be on microfiche by now as most vital statistics offices in the USA are. In my state, when a BC is asked for, it must have the raised seal, and it has to be shown at that time, not TWO YEARS LATER!...Also, why isn't HI allowing for the births to be shown for Aug 1961. It's not where he was born but the "natural born" citizenship clause that makes him ineligible...his father was a british subject when BO was born. Accept he's a fraud.

The reason you can see the seal when holding the document in your hand is because you can tilt it until the light source is coming from a specific angle range, to hilight where the paper bends towards the light, and darken (casting small shadows) where the paper bends away from the light. If you know 3D computer animation, look up Gouraud or Phong shading algorithms and the concept of “face normals.”

Maybe the document WAS faked, but if it was, it was faked BEFORE it was scanned. That could not be determined by any analysis of the scan, unless the forgery was incompetent.
You see, your scenario now requires that the forger be BOTH an incredible genius AND a BLITHERING IDIOT! At the SAME TIME!

It’s just so faint (due to the nature, BY DESIGN, of flatbed scanners — they’re design to MINIMIZE THE EFFECTS of paper fiber distortions such as folds, wrinkles, etc. — and, unfortunately, embossed seals as well [the scanner cannot tell any difference between an embossing and a wrinkle]) that you cannot easily see it unless you know how to look for it. Hint: you need to use special filters in, say, Photoshop.

• #1, The actual ORIGINAL does NOT have a seal. The seal is for COPIES, to certify that they are in fact CERTIFIED COPIES OF the original.
• #2, The seal IS present in the .PDF. You just can’t easily see it, because of the nature of embossed seals combined with the nature of FLATBED scanners. Embossing puts no ink nor other coloration into the paper, and the scanner only measures the COLORS that it sees per pixel.

The “layers” are from Adobe Acrobat Pro’s “Optimize Scanned PDF” command (try it yourself on any document of your choice). Ditto the white halos.
The “kerning” is mechanical “slop” common in hammer-type typewriters of the day.
Most of the second line was indeed typed separately, but there are viable reasons a clerk might do that.

@TheMongoose131, I say “air bubble” to save space (500 character limit here), but it could be anything that would cause a random gap in the ink (e.g. dust speck). We see them ALL OVER the Obama stamp. Only in the “H” of “THE” does it just happen to be both big enough and in the right spot to cause it to look like an “X” to people who don’t understand the basics of fonts, and considering how many letters are in that stamp (98 in 4 lines), that’s well within the probability of random chance.

@TheMongoose131, Agreed about the right side of the other stamp almost certainly being overinking. I’m saying that the left middle area of the Obama stamp shows a much lesser degree of overinking, but still overinking.
On the comparison stamp, notice how it’s bad enough that if you didn’t already know what it said, I doubt that you could be sure. The words “FILE IN” look almost like “FIL2 M”! This shows that inking issues can indeed cause letters in a stamp to look like other characters.

We’ve only seen a handful of birth certificates from that place and time (Obama, the Nordyke twins, the one in the animated .GIF, and the one with the Copperplate Condensed-like font in this video that was obviously made with a different stamp). That’s hardly a large enough sample size to be making any sort of conclusions.
And besides, an air bubble wouldn’t repeat. We see several of those elsewhere in the Obama stamp. Is one more really so hard to accept?

@TheMongoose131, The ”TXE” sticks out so much only because of the positioning of the bubble or flaw. If it were even ½ of the width of the bubble in any direction, it either wouldn’t cut all the way through the stroke and into the crossbar (like the “TH” in “THIS”), or else would be above or below the crossbar and so not cause it to appear like a weird serif-font “X.” In either case, it wouldn’t cause the letter to appear like another letter, which is the only reason this is so noticeable.

That’s an ILLUSION caused by a wearing and/or mis-inking of that portion of the stamp centered on the “H” of “THE” (as I pointed out before). You can see similar distortions in the top bars of the “H” The central part of both sides (especially the left side) of the “H” are worn or (e.g. due to an ink “bubble”) otherwise missing, but most of the cross-bar remains. This makes it somewhat resemble an “X” of a WILDLY DIFFERENT FONT!

It is fundamentally impossible for anything in a digital image to be “between pixels.” You cannot have ½ a pixel. But, when scanning, parts of letters will extend only partially into a pixel. Those pixels, when scanned, will be of a color that is not fully black, but a mix of black and the underlying paper color (white and green in this case). This is the “anti-aliasing” effect. For instance, if a serif covers ¾ of a pixel’s square, that pixel will be 75% black.

Because nothing can actually be between pixels, but gray levels can give that appearance, once those gray levels are removed, the objects (letters or strokes thereof) can appear to “shift” up to ½ a pixel. “Monumental Problem” #5: Kerning. Again, this is a result of the optimization done by Adobe Acrobat Pro6s “Optimize Scanned PDF” function. It converts the grayscale pixels of scanned text into solid black pixels, and in so doing, it undoes the natural “anti-aliasing” that scanning normally produces.
All digital raster images are made up of pixels arrayed in a pixel grid. The letters on the paper do NOT line up exactly with the pixel grid of the scanner, nor of the final optimized document.

Someone scanned the certified copy of the birth certificate (Xeroxed or scanned-and-printed onto green-patterned security paper, that was then stamped and embossed-sealed) directly into Adobe Acrobat Pro. This is quite simply the logical thing to do when your goal is to turn a scanned document into a .PDF file for the Web. The DEFAULT settings, other than turning OCR off (one checkbox), would produce EXACTLY the sort of things we see here.

The .PDF file format was invented by Adobe for a series of programs called “Adobe Acrobat ___” where “___” was an “edition” of the program. Adobe Acrobat Reader, for instance, could read PDFs, but not create them. Adobe Acrobat Professional could create them. Adobe Capture was for scanning, and was later included in Adobe Acrobat Professional (as of v6).

M.P. #1 cont. — Freeze-frame anywhere from about 00:50 to about 01:10, where you see the stamp on Obama’s B.C. Look at the letters JUST TO THE LEFT of the purported “X” — in particular, the “ACT” of “ABSTRACT” through the purported “X” — ESPECIALLY the ENTIRE word “OF” as well as the “T” of the purported “TXE.”
They’re all thicker strokes than those of the surrounding letters — typical of a badly inked and/or worn stamp, and possibly something in that part of the paper (e.g. grease spot).

The birth certificate stamps you compare show the Obama document to be forged. There is no white outline on the real example. If you do a screen shot of both & compare the two examples side by side, you should note other differences: it is clearly not the same stamp on the signature, the "M" in the last type written line on Obama's document is not the same font, more like an inverted "W", the real example shows a rocking motion in application, this is the characteristics of a real stamp.

@courag1, the white outline is present THROUGHOUT the Obama Birth Certificate, and is an artifcact of the optimization process. Every dark mark has the white outline, even the lines and boxes of the form itself.
The “M” IS NOT an inverted “W.” As with the Arial font used in these Text Comments, the outer strokes of the “M” are straight-up vertical and parallel to each other, while those of the “W” are angled (like two “V”s joined together at the vertex).

@COMALiteJ I have made many rubber stamps and am an expert at critiquing them. This is a simulated stamp, not the real deal. The white outline is consistent throughout not typical of scans whatsoever, there should be but isn't, jpeg chromatic splitting, but isn't. It has to be assembled in Illustrator as you can't have items of different dpi in Photoshop. FYI, Futura font family uses "M"s which are like inverted "W"s. So the font is not the correct match. It isn't the only font which uses this.

@courag1, On the matter of fonts, yes, the one shown at 01:16 does indeed have a different font (and not just because of the “M”). It doesn’t look like Futura, though. Futura has the ends of the stroke of the “C” chopped off vertically, as if it were an “O” that someone sliced the right side off of. The “C” here isn’t like that. Look also at the “Ts”. They appear to have tiny serifs on the cross-stroke, as do the “Cs” and other letters for that matter.
Looks like Copperplate Condensed to me.

It’s hard to tell from a low-res image on a blurry lossily-compressed YouTube video, though. I’d love to see a higher resolution image of that stamp.
That said, the answer should be obvious: they’re two different stamps! Offices often keep spares of important stamps handy. They may even have some made months or years later than the originals. Likely, they commissioned a stamp-maker to make a new one, and told him what it should say and how big, but not which font to use.

@courag1, This also explains the obvious wearing of the second line of text (resulting in the suspicious-looking “TXE” appearance that I demonstrated is NOT a typo) of the Obama stamp, which is NOT present in the other stamp, which is just what one would expect if there had been a replacement stamp made. Yes, it was a month earlier, but both stamps could easily have been in use during that period, and the Registrar just grabbed whichever one was handy at the time.

@COMALiteJ First of all, many customers type their own rubber stamps, but the proof goes back to the customer, they proof it when they pick it up. It is also spell checked by computer which as this was generated by computer with the wrong font to match what the other stamp was, even if it had existed in 1961. The standard for the government is to order one, make sure it is right. Then several are ordered. One die is made, so all stamps are official as they are identical.

Even in government agencies? It was a rush job, everyone expects the computer to fix everything, they didn't proof it correctly. They flubbed. When this goes to court, they will examine all the rubber stamps in the book. So they really have their tampering cut out for them. Hawaii is going to allow all that? Each impression will be slightly different, but no X.

You’ll see that the font, spacing, etc. MATCH (UNLIKE the comparison one in this video).

I think the paperwork is not very relevant because if a certificate of birth exists on file in Hawaii it would be on microfiche by now as most vital statistics offices in the USA are. A NEW paper certificate is created on demand in most states when someone requests it. Surely the board of elections verified it at the time of the campaign.. they are public records anyone (or a lawyer) could verify even at this late date, using the NUMBER that appears on top of the certificate.

You should also investigate any newborn death certificates within the range of dates in question and any associated birth certificate that may have been issued to any deceased children for a potential match to Obama's alleged BC # . There are only two possibilities; it's fake or it's real. If it's fake, then Obama has just committed a felony (a high crime according to the constitution). He is therefore impeachable.
If it's real, then he has just given factual proof that he is not constitutionally eligible to hold the office of president. His father was not born in the U.S. and there is no record of his father being a naturalized citizen.
Nixon resigned over a misdemeanor. Obama should resign, too.

When one scam follows another, you have to think that either they are stupid who are doing this and the president doesn't know enough to see the difference, or they are playing with us so that they can put us down on a list who understand what is correct or not, to send behind the moon.
