Woah I'm lucky. I just got a GMC pickup 3/4 ton for like $2850 not restored. It'll will be restored like that but red it a 12Volt system though. I might change it back to 6 IDK yet. Do y'all think I should keep it or sell it after I restore it? It will only like go up in price over time right?
Find one to work on that has no rust. Rust removel is a lot of work and cost a lot. If you are going to do the work yourself it is going to take a long time. 4-6 years. If you do not want to spend all that time on it. Go find one almost done. LOL
Found one no rust at all, the only down fall is that the welded in a diamond plate bed in I'm guessing the last one rusted out. IDK what to do aboutthat
Priceless truck...i would never sell that EVER. where do you find these to restore? every time i find one online it was sold the day before. I need a GMC to restore. ;)
I'm sorry to tell you but you could never restore one like this for under $40k. The owner need to down size, so this one can be in your driveway for under $20k. Save some money and enjoy this one now.
Hello Jerry! Aw, that's a nice beauty, and it purrs like a kitten! Brings back good memories. I've got two 51's (Chevrolet's - the generic version) now in parts. They're fun to drive - but I had never driven one that's not worn out - how's the handling of a 51' once restored?
I drove it for about 25 miles on the high way. 55-60 is as fast as I went. Not one shake or shimmy, Going down hill I got up to 70+ with no problems. It olny has 56k of miles on it, so I beleive this is how they drove when new. I drove a H1 Hummer back from where we dropped the 51' off, and the 51' was more comfortable than the H1. Thanks for watching..Jerry
