What mathers in the end is the well being of the child, good or bad the best for the child is to stay with his family now, even if he was taken in a criminal way. sean wants to stay with his family in Brazil. In the Elian Gonzalez case the US government INTERVENED and physically removed Elian Gonzalez from the home of his grandparents who kidnapped him, & then returned him to his father in Cuba...And that is precisely what Brazil is supposed to do under international law according to the Hague Convention, which Brazil signed. In fact Brazil should have returned him 5 years ago. This case has been going on way too long & it's disgraceful. BOYCOTT BRAZIL!!!!!!

Does anyone remember Anna Mae He's case?. Tennessee courts went as far as to make openly racist claims in their decisions, with one judge going as far as saying he couldn't return her to her Chinese parents simply because her kidnappers were Americans and that made them better parents. She had no obligation to stay permanently in the U.S.. She did have an obligation to wait until custody issues could be worked out. Instead, she simply kidnapped the child. The fact that her family thinks they have more rights over the child then his father is remarkable.

It is illegal for the U.S. to not allow her to leave unless she has committed a crime. She did kidnap her son. Both parents have custody but she decided that only she should see the son, that is immoral. The Elian Gonzalez case is similiar to this and in that case the boy was sent back to Cuba. The idea that the child's grandparents should have more rights than the father is absurd and you should be ashamed of yourself for defending it.

He is, after all, the product of a fugitive wife in a parental kidnapping according to US law. All european countries but Romenia have imposed very tight restrictions.
Brazil also grants citizenship to children of Brazilian nationals, wherever they are born.
Therefore he is Brazilian and, interesting enough, will be required to enlist for the mandatory military service at 17 years of age.

What mathers in the end is the well being of the child, good or bad the best for the child is to stay with his family now, even if he was taken in a criminal way. sean wants to stay with his family in Brazil. Stockholm syndrome happens in a violent coercive situation This kid has a normal life. If he wanted to go he would be free to do so. And thats far different from a hostage situation. So I dont think your analogy is right. It does not mater if is the biological mother or not, but the fact that if you really love someone you are going to set them free. Stockholm syndrome is where the kidnapped identifies with his kidnapper. The boy doesn't know wtf he wants because he grew up in a house with his kidnappers he's going to think things are normal when it's not.
