everyone who seems to think that macs are sooo over priced don't seem to be paying any attention to the durability of a Mac. i've had a mac that i bought for $999 and i've been using it for over 4 years. tht means effectively it costs me less than $20 per month. and i've NEVER had a glitch. not ever.

the Compaq i owned before that lasted me less than two years. and it had more glitches than the number of programs it could run at one time. MAC OS TRUMPS ALL!

@gozlobs03 My PC is 6 years old. It runs smoothly like never before, I obviously upgrade it to keep up with the time, but it's doing fine being a PC. I'm running a custom version of Window XP, I got a good anti-virus and I don't download viral software (Duh?). All that for a lousy price when I bought it, and the costs of the different upgrades. Mac and PC are the same shit, only homemade computer are good.

They love to throw out the "number one notebook on college campuses" statistic, but it's so misleading, as the reason they are is cause if ya want a mac os you don't really have any other legal alternatives. Overall PC laptops still way outsell Macs, it's just Mac now outsells Dell on colleges :P

i love macs, but i wish you didn't have to pay a premium for them. If anyone is egocentric it is mac with their outrageous prices. Micro$oft is just lazy and likes finding other sneaky ways to get your money.

And for their price macs have less power. I bought an $800 pc laptop and it's twice as fast as my sister's $1300 mac laptop.

having said all that, my next laptop will still be a mac for sure. lol  it's less hassle. But my desktop will always be a PC. I like the freedom

@evildigigenius You might have already found out, but they did. As of Windows 7 and a good antivirus, a pc will not have have any problem that isn't because of a program you installed. Macs however continue to be hacked and crash as usual.

There's a competition called Pwn2Own, and for the past several years, it has taken hackers less than 2 minutes to get hacked, much faster than the computer running Windows 7. The funniest part is that this past year, the Mac had gotten Apples brand new "security" update, and got hacked in under 10 seconds
