I love this! I watch it at least once a week. I love how theatrical it is. I love how the cast member backup singers have this coreography that is like the tenticles of Ursula. :-)

Alright stupid people, Sherie Rene Scott is amazing and one of Broadway's great leading ladies. Disney would not fly her out to Disneyland in Anaheim from New York just to sing at this ceremony if she wasn't incredible. So stop judging, get some talent and broadway and film credits of your own and then you can comment against her okay? Youtube her performances in "Everyday Rapture" , "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown", "Aida" and "The Last 5 Years". Research before opening your mouths.

@dannyleary78 I don't have a problem with her voice, or her, 'amazingness.' BUT, she lacks the passion in the song. It's just like she's overdoing it a bit, making it seem fake. :/ She is amazing at singing, but the song choice, and her part doesn't really fit her.

She's so amazing. I loved her before she was in the musical and still do. I wouldn't say Pat Carroll is better, it's just a different take on a classic. Stop the hate people! There are things that are in more need of your energy.

obviously people are going to prefer the original (this is true in most cases) but i dont think that should blind anyone to the fact that Sherie Rene Scott reeeeally brought a different dimension to Ursula and the song and shes just so amazingly talented.

yes she doesnt sound anything like the original but what kind of artist would she be if she just copied Pat Carroll? not to mention that copies are never better than the original =)

I like both the original and the broadway version - This was my first time hearing the Broadway one and I really was able to listen to every word and actually got the story behind the song. (A little late in the game, I know) With the original song I just listened to Pat Carroll's voice and not really the words.
