Talking about sequels. I dont know if this really counts, but a film that I saw as a kid that really freaked me out was Return to Oz. It was kind of a sequel to the wizard of oz. It got bad reviews at the time and has kind of been forgoten. But I think it was a very dark kids movie. I think people should give it another look.
I like Return to Oz. It failed because most people were expecting a delightful follow-up to the original Oz and instead they got a film faithful to the books.
"The Wheelers" scared me a lot more than many of the horror movies I saw around the same time. The movie has a lot of images that are quite unsettling for children. Like Dorothy being given electric shock therapy. I think Disney where expecting a delightful follow-up as well. It's like the black sheep of the Disney cannon. The movie should get a bit more respect than it does.
@badhead >>Well, it wasn't just the content, but this movie was done when the studio changed chief heads twice, so the current head when the movie was finished wasn't interested in it that much, even though they did advertise it well.
I saw CHUD and I though it was kinda bad, yet I liked it and enjoyed it. I hope it comes out on DVD. Also I'm a fan of Eli Roth so I was slightly offended by some on Edwin's comments out him, but who cares, great show!
I am a fan of Roth's but I agree that he isn't the future of horror. But one of the things I like is the humour he injects into his films, like the guy in the locker room in Hostel or the teenaged police officer in Cabin Fever. Also I checked out CHUD. I thought it was very bad but yet I liked it and enjoyed it very much! I just can't find it on DVD which is a bummer! Hope to see more shows soon!
I agree with Edwin about the Richard Donner cut of SUPERMAN 2. See my review on my YouTube page for my take on it.

Nice show! Too bad Richard didn't do some pranks. I guess he had a too big heart to fuck his friends over. :)

Looks like Haitek (real name: Sally) doesn't have an attention span longer than 3 minutes. Poor Sally ...

I love CHUD. I wanted to review it, but the other guys didn't see the movie.
I didn't hate Roth's films, but I don't think he's the future of horror filmmaking. He's not on the level of Craven, Romero and Carpenter.
