  • Well said karmapeach! That`s the attitude to have in the North!

I also agree, I love them all!

Ronnie will be sadly missed, another legend gone....`ring-a-ring-a-rosie` in the sky!

  • ronnie drew is gods gift to us who fuck all.

  • Shane sounds like a duck if he laughs.

  • Here's to you, Ronnie Drew!!!

  • @MrAmadaeus fuck your mother

  • Fantastic all the usual suspects drunk or not! Wonderful tribute to Mr. Drew!!

  • he was a remarkable man wit lovely blue eyes i love u ronnie drew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx the best singer 2 come out of ireland

  • I really can't stand Bono or U2. I'm probably going to get some replies that I'm an asshole but it's just my opinion.

  • I should be ashamed to say this, as my dad had just about every Dubliners album, (English but County mayo and Cork ancestry), but please does anybody know the title of the first song Ronny Drew is singing, thanks in advance, its brilliant!!

  • @MrGrotbagsOro Se do Bhaithe 'Bhaile, it was often sung by Irish freedom fighers & sympathisers during the Easter Rising. It was also sung as a fast march during the Irish War of Independence.

  • After all is said and done. Why, oh why are we, the Irish still arging with each other?. Will we ever learn?

  • Jaysus, McGowan is a fecking drag when he's gee-eyed. At least he can still sing when he's hammered, but he should avoid speaking.

  • He probably isn't even drunk there.

  • First of all it's MacGowan, not McGowan. Second, how does a person avoid to speak? Of course he should speak!

  • Ok smart arse, you might be right, but why don't you explain the difference? Second, learn to have a sense of humour, you Scnadie nerk. Third, one doesn't avoid to speak, one avoids speaking, you gobshite.

  • Do the best you can! Ronnie was a very wise man:-)

  • I AM AN ULSTER PROD AND I LOVE ALL OF THEM

  • @karmapeach Fair Play Mate

  • actually, it makes me want to cry when i see shane interviewed

  • first of all you don't know anything about me and why do you feel the need to make this personal?

  • Ronnie is an irish legend, he and luke will always be fondly remembered and their music lives on.

  • there the irish version of zz top with the beards

  • what´s the name of the first song? it´s great!

  • Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile - it's an old irish one

  • Thanks Mark!!

Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile indeed!

    BEAUTIFUL!

  • ehhh... Shane is our man. Don't know what's wrong with you but don't touch Shane... Not one hair on his head shall be harmed. CH

  • ya what the fuck are you talking about have you heard any of shanes songs. dick......

  • Shane in this vid looks alot like Keith richards.

  • "God takes Ronnie and leaves Shane: now THAT'S beyond all understanding. Ronnie fought to maintain our culture: our music, literature, fights for freedom and gladness of heart. Shane just capitalized on old stereotypes and should die of shame or syphilis."

That's a load of rubbish mate! Though the loss of Ronnie is quite tragic and sad indeed, you should not post such stupid stuff! Shane MacGowan is a great man, he wrote und sang some of the most beautiful songs that you can find anywhere!

  • Whats the song in the beginning, love that song.

  • THATS THE STUFF RONNIEXXX

  • RIP king of ireland.

  • patmac1100 (part 2).) In my case he was my teacher for all of those years that we knew of his existance. (It was only much later that I, for example began to feel the full force of Luke's contribution)

  • So what are we doing then..? are we going to really keep this giant of a man's memory really, really alive? My first suggestion is that we gather in Dublin every anniversary of his death and spreading outward from Merrion Row and O'Donaghue's, we listen to serious amounts of his music, drink a little, (responsibly of course) then swop our favourite stories of what he meant to us all as individuals. There could be other venues at the same time, (all suggestion appreciated.)

  • I'm for that (though I'm here in the USA). We toasted Ronnie on St. Paddy's Day during a performance in Newport News, VA. Ronnie is loved throughout the world.

  • Scott, hello there, thanks for the contact. You've just reminded me to send the "thought provoker" again. I would be very happy to discuss a plan to get a few true Ronnie fans together. Could I just at this stage ask your age please so as not to confuse you with another response I've had.

    Good to have you aboard.

    patmac

  • Its "Óró, Sé do Bheatha 'Bhaile"...

  • Thanks! Found it online and I'm teaching myself how to play and sing it. The chords are one thing, but those lyrics will take some time.

  • Ronnie Drew -- So cool -- so Irish!! RIP Ronnie!

  • You could tell Ronnie and Shane were having a great time doing "Irish Rover." What a great song!!!

  • apples091 i think u should shut the fuck up giving shane a bad name.he was born in tipperary as a lower class citizen not a ''middle class wanker''without doubt luke and ronnie are legends in their own right but so is Shane MacGowan.Have u heard any of the songs he's wrote??

  • R.I.P from Brazil!

Ronnie, legends never die! You're for sure one legend!

  • R.I.P......cheers from BERLIN!!!

  • If shane's words could meet his lips we'd have another shakespeare

  • patmac1100 (part 2).) In my case he was my teacher for all of those years that we knew of his existance. (It was only much later that I, for example began to feel the full force of Luke's contribution)

  • the last coment is so true.luke kelly would have no time for these tax dodgers(U2)and co.shane i have had drinks with you, but you are now a drunken performing poodle for your rich.oh so smug irish "royal family" of music chums!

  • He was a great Irish music man but this video is a fucking car crash not in any way a tribute to one of the greatest Irish music men. It's a fucking insult from a load of new Irish middle class wankers, who couldn't tell Ronnnie Drew from Ronnie Corbett or the great Luke Kelly from Matthew fucking Kelly. These fuckers should get on ( including Mc Gowan) with their own stuff and not dare to try and trace a heritage back to people like Ronnie or Luke.

  • A great Irish musician and man

    may he rest in peace..

  • i really worry about shane, the best irish ballader ever, god bless the dubs past and present
