The ONLY time when unpausing the game whenever someone is AFK...is when the guy is pausing to grief. I've had that happen before, some guy paused the game so he couldn't lose when we ripped apart all his and his partner's bases and we had him on the ropes and asked for 5 minutes. What we did: We unpaused the game after 5 minutes exactly and continued destroying him and he was clearly NOT AFK when he told us to go **** off. That is the ONE instance...when you can unpause the game for someone else

Actually, maybe it's a team thing or a level thing (as we are gold, not diamond), but I have never seen a pause that worked. Every single time me or my team mates need to pause, a pause battle starts where the other team will unpause, at which point a team mate will pause again, at which point another opponent will unpause, and so on and so forth until either the person is back or our team is out of pause.

I don't remember ever needing to pause in 1v1, so I don't know if it's the same.
