This, OoT, and Banjo are my all time favorite games. This game is colorful, funny, fun characters, catchy music, and ofc IMPACT BATTLES! It combined the elements of a platform jumping game and a fighting-action game with RPG elements like learning new abilities and obtaining new characters. So awesome its a damn shame they don't make games like they used to, seriously its just graphics over game-play nowadays.

yeah i had this video tape. it was in a german magazine called "64power" i think. when there was not really internet (for non-rich people like us), it was great to have video tapes with new e3 trailers and previews every month. they should bring back goemon for wii or something. a shame the ds-sequel never made it beyond japan. i have imported it, but can hardly play since i can't read any japanese typo§?$#! they remake everything. turtles in time, castlevania, so why no goemon 8?

till 0:37 it is from the beta version, you can see the differences in the HUD: lifes in the top right, different design on the bottom, another square-space (probably for the weapon of the second player, when there was still the multiplayer mode) on the bottom right and the numbers/text in the top left. Maybe there are some more differences in the areas/visuals, but last time i played this game was years ago, so i cant remember them very well now.

Looks like they originally made it "on the rails" 3D closer to "great" Goemon 6 instead of giving full camera control as they did later on. After the JP commercial it shows final gameplay, (which was similar to Mario on the map but had a lot more free form exploration).
