Sir Frederick Ashton created "Sylvia" on Dame Margot Fonteyn. It's hard for me to imagine Fonteyn essaying this gorgeous but treacherous choreography the way Darcey Bussell does. But she must have, since the choreography was designed to show off Fonteyn's strengths.

It is quite sad to see that Darcey Bussell was not made a dame (DBE) like Fonteyn or Antoinette Sibley andnning it is even sadder to see that Kelly Holmes became one after winning a medal for running 800metres!!! At least Bussell gave us her art for at least 20 years. But there you go that's the British Honours system, sooooo fair....

everyone is going to hate me because of this but i dont like her hands at all.

i like all the variation it was very clean and very well performed but her arms in the arabesques look to tense.

and yes in the movie darcey is perfectly in time i agree in this video maybe they just added the music.

Amazing!! Darcey Bussel is so incredible--this variation takes unfathomable amounts of strength and control, and yet she performs it so confidently and makes it look like the easiest thing in the world.

She is beautiful!! I have the movie and it is amazing. Same dancers in it too. I think that music wasnt the one from the movie. I think the person who put in this video just added music. Trust me she is on time and perfect!
