    2.build anticipation

3.give appearance of great worth for an unbelievable price

    4. seem as though he is doing the customer a favor

5.set a limited time offer to encourage fast purchase

    great sales man !!

  • All pretty nebulous stuff. Typical sales pitch. Dangle the carrot; if you want more, buy the program.

  • While its a neat little video, IMO, I always hate it how people use YouTube to sell me stuff. I bet the book is good and all, but I much prefer it when an author just gives free samples of his advice without it being a sales pitch. Jeffrey Gitomer of BuyGitomer is a perfect example of what I like. He just gives free advice each week. If you want, you can go to his site and buy, but he's not selling you his stuff all the time.

  • @NebulaSteam You can get free stuff every week from Darren Hardy, this video is a small taste of what he sends out on an email each week, have a look at Success dot Com it changed my life. And every week it keeps getting better, plus that is where I found out who Jeffrey Gitomer is.

  • @NebulaSteam "If your good at something, never do it for free." Darren is a great entrepreneur and success coach but he is also a business man. you can't "hate" on him for wanting to push a new book into the hands of customers through a video. and as another member mentioned, Darren gives free tips/etc all the time. you just have to subscribe to his updates. i get some outstanding stuff from his Facebook page DAILY.

and like he mentioned about price vs value. if its free nobody listens!

  • @bizzybearfigiblue nobody listens to free stuff? Well, you can't really assume that because it doesn't matter whether its free or not, what matters is whether people want to hear it. If its something that relates to them, then they'll want to hear it.

Plus, you have to give value first if you want to gain trust which leads to the sale.

He does give good advice on the site, you're right, but this one video I just don't like.

  • @NebulaSteam i worded it like that b/c i ran out of space to type on here... and you took it out of context... people don't put as much value on free stuff as they do stuff they pay for... that's the psychology of the human mind... no money invested = not as much effort put towards the actions the book says to take... i can give examples of this but i'm sure you get the point...

  • @bizzybearfigiblue I must be misunderstanding you. Are you saying that if you buy the book, you're more likely to put the tips that Darren Hardy suggests into use?

Also, I'm only saying that Hardy should just give us, for example, 10 tips for achieving your goals this year. Then, at the end of the video, he'll say: "if you'd like more tips like this, I recommend buying my book". Giving a little sample of his tips is a sales promo method which'll increase the chance people will buy it.

  • @NebulaSteam it's all value perceived. if i only tell you the title of a movie, how interested are you in paying to see it? not much really. but if i tell you the basic storyline of the movie with a few details, will you want to pay to see it now? yes, if it's your type of entertainment. now if i told you the beginning/middle/end, will you still pay to see it? probably not.

point is, you can only give so much while still capturing the viewers attention. this same logic applies to selling.

  • @bizzybearfigiblue I'm also not asking Darren Hardy to give me everything or most of the information in his book, just a little more information than he provided in this video here. If he did that, I'm sure more people would buy because they would say, basically, "Hey! Those are some great tips he just gave me! If I liked these, then I'm sure to like what else he has in that book"

  • @NebulaSteam i see what you mean... i guess with me hearing him speak live, being subscribed to the magazine and owning a copy of his book before this one "The Compound Effect" as well as watching everything he releases... kinda makes it easy for me to see the value in getting the book and i sorta can look past the "selling" aspect of this video... i guess for someone not familiar with him or his materials might see this as a way to sell books. in either case it's all good.

    much success to you!

  • @NebulaSteam another example could be with workout programs... i started P90X a +$120 program and i read tons of stories of others who had the program too... some paid for it and others downloaded it or got it from a friend for free... can you guess which ones actually stuck to the program?? i'll give you the answer, it wasn't the ones who got it for free... the people who paid +$120 for it wanted their money worth so they stuck to it rigorously...

  • @bizzybearfigiblue I've paid for things in the past that I thought I might love, but I ended up being totally wrong and never reading it (or doing whatever with it). There have been things that I've gotten absolutely for free which I didn't think I'd like at all, but I ended up loving it and using it all the time. So, I guess it can go both ways.

  • there is an issue with the link posted the .com after bestyearever needs to be removed...

  • Throughout history most people only tap into a fraction of their potential. It's amazing what the human body, mind, and heart can do if you continue to push forward. Thanks for another great video Darren.
