How to make an Amaretto Sour - Girls Mixing Drinks

How wrong I was... with more than 15 years experience in a bar, I thought, that an Amaretto sour is made with fresh lemon juice, and maybe a hint of orange juice, to substitute the sugar [Amaretto is a liqueur] and maybe some egg white... and I was shaking it always very long.

Now this "angel of bartending" is showing me, that I could saved me a lot of time and a lot of trouble... long live youtube and "Girls mixing Drinks"!

30 ml lemon juice

20 ml sugar syrup

dash eggwhite

dry shake

shake with ice & strain into a ice filled rocks glass.

garnish; flamed orange zest

and there is your amaretto sour.

If she uses sour mix...by definition the mix already got sugar sirop in it no? it is just a quicker way to produce the same result. her measurement may be faulty but the ingredients are somehow right

@pencrazypal listen to what she sais. "Lime juice" i take that as lime juice tbh, but with this girl i dont know she dosnt seem that clever. So the ingredients are false. And your talking about the same result? its not. You seem to have no clue how to make a drink.

The reason I think she screwed up on the juice she put is that a lime juice will give a color that will got more green. The final color of the drink. Lets put a hypothesis: SUPPOSE that she did used sour mix, then the only thing she could have added is egg white and bitter to foam it. But again, a lot of people don't go that far. Then the recipe is not faulty. But yeah, if she use lime juice then it is not good.

@pencrazypal Heard of a shaker? the shake is the whole thing that creates the foamy consistence of the drink, thats why its a sour.

@Lorenz1981101 Most bar around my place don't use a shaker either. Every bartender has their own way to make drinks, just depends on the area you are in.
