A plethora of real problems exist that need to be addressed (monopoly constraints, eugenics, governmental size, Jeffersonian vs. Hamiltonian ideology pertaining to governmental power (i.e. state vs. federal power) etc.), but when we can't even address grievances without a brawl starting because of some sad excuse (i.e. Republicans drawing some real concerns about the economics of the Health Care, only for Democrats to excuse them of not caring for the uncovered), then you know that we're screwed

The only way to relieve ourselves from this ideological paradigm is to:

1.) stop depending on news media (newspapers, television, radios, etc.) in order to acquire our half-hearted, biased news and research to obtain a more full understanding of the issues and

2.) as you said in the video, vote for people based on their character (preference on third parties) than on the party ideology.

But who are we kidding? It'll never stop...

I agree the large government is a problem, but I view it more as a symptom. The disease is the biased media that is tied in with the corporations which are infiltrating our government. They pick the politicians to favor that will help them with their agenda. They also fail to report some very crucial news in order to sway public opinion. It's startling how much news is staged, like the bringing down of the Saddam statue.
